  1. Thanks for posting the FJ resolution. I had to give up the other day, I was on hold while they asked about "does the
  2. Hi, I'm planning to go to the party, don't know about guests though (could be a couple of them). Re the Gt Yarmouth side of Norwich Park and ride seems best bet, don't know about parking on the business park, but the park &ride is quite well sign posted for those visitors who don't know Norwich. Andy
  3. I will probably be right to the wire in terms of working on the cars(s) to get at least one ready, but if there's anything you need done Saturday just say, I'm only a few miles from Wensum Golf.
  4. Iwas speaking to another Esprit owner joining us on the factory day & Sunday, and he (John) mentioned the A47 road works that will be in force at the time. Copy from http://www.rac.co.uk/web/trafficnews/incid...&category=L NORFOLK A47 Eastbound Acle Overnight roadworks (20:00 - 06:00) with the road closed and a signed diversion in operation due to maintenance work. Start: Monday 09 October 2006 20:00 Finish: Saturday 28 October 2006 06:00 The road will be open at the times we travel Sunday, but what condition will the road be in? Bibs, you were going to talk to Norfolk Constabulary, did they have any conditions on the route? Would it be better if people travelled another route that will not have "ramps" in the tarmac surface? Do we have a block booking with a chiropractor?
  5. 1986 Turbo- well the body is. It has 1992 sub frame & running gear so... Later gearbox later brakes later suspension setup with dual adjustable dampers Wheels & tyres etc from later car (S4) Engine modded to 1992 spec, Liners ect, just using origianl block, head, turbo etc. Electrical charge cooler pump. Gren cotton filter Bailey dump valve Larini SS exhaust Stainless braided brake pipes Dash binacle from 1992. Interior modded to remove roof mounted clock. seats changed Interior changed to black Allegedly this car was modded up to 300 BHP, but as I've not had it on the road propperly yet, I don't know. with only 3 weeks to go and a lot to do I'm concerned it may not get done in time.
  6. I know I'm getting old, but the Tonka toys I remember had a decent proportion of metal in them, and didn;t have a 600cc engine that sounds like a grass strimmer. Now if you'd said they're more like MrPotato head, I could see the resemblance, you decide which colour, which style etc and rip bits off and fit the different bits. The poor guy had it less than 6 months, stopped round a friend's house for a few drinks, woke up, wondered where his car was. His "friend had "borrowed" it, and smashed it up. Due to an insurance cock-up or six, it took ages to fix, then ages to get it fixed propperly- I can say that as I saw it after LIND BMW said they had finished it (one wheel 10mm further forward than the other). At one point, somebody had given him a toy from a Kinder egg, of a SMART roadster, just to remind him what his car looked like.
  7. On behalf of Leighton 200 1 - Leighton Howe 2 - He drives a SMART roadster, it isn't made of steel, does it count? 3 - Guest - no 4 - No lives locally 5 - no 6 - no 7 - no8 - Norwich He looked so gutted at work today when somebody said I was going, so I thought I'd better try and get him there. Andy, maybe I could claim he needs to give some unpaid assistance on getting the Turbo car ready....
  8. 196&197 1 - Andy Clements 2 - Hopefully, Turbo '86 3 - Yes, Kris 4 - No 5 - No 6 - Yes (if 2 is yes, depends on MOT & other car stuff) 7 - same as 6 8 - Norwich (Bawburgh)
  9. I'm going to say, "I may be there", it depends on the roadworthiness of an esprit. The seemingly never ending wobble on front braking with the S3 or the Turbo with it's engine not back in yet ( was planning to finish it before attempting the S3, but wobble got too bad). Andy Norwich
  10. Given time she will drive illegally again ( hopefull after the secure stint), and it is likely she'll have an accident. If she's stupid enough to kill herslf in the acient then she could qualify for a mention in the Darwin awards for services to the gene pool. Lets just hope she doesn't steal an Esprit- as it could be one of ours. Andy
  11. Yep, lets meet up, by that time I hope to have the blue one on the road (42 hours 9 mins 'till the MOT test starts on it, not that I'm counting it down). Now why haven't I noticed a GT3 going past? Although I have walked round the business estate to look at the Europa TC - mine is a Special so pretty much the same. Andy. Drop me a line when the gathering is to be planned.
  12. Could also have been mine. Having ignition switch problems, it lost ignition power, caries on putting fuel through, then when you touch the switch it fires again, only thing is you have a few revs worth of un-burned fule/air mix in the exhaust- so it meets the hot gasses and "pop". Thankfully ignition switch fixed now, and the gentle backfire of a tuned engine being backed off is nothing compared to that sound that the S3 made for those 2 days when I had the issue. Andy
  13. Certainly up for a pub meet, hopefully driving the turbo by then- although if I meet another person like the Nisaan Sunny driver I did today I may have to drive anything other than the S3- he had a damn good go at ramming me off the road. But I wil need reminding, memory like a goldfish. Andy
  14. I was probably on my way to/ from one of our work sites. We have the building next to the airport where KLM used to be. i was probably muttering about something so Skoa, Lotus, QE2 could have been there and I'd have probably not noticed if it wasn't infront of me. Andy. p.s yes it is an S3.
  15. That was me. It's soon going. To may way for its "sister" who had a bit of a nip and tuck. An 85 Turbo body, with 92 running gear and engine etc. Blue. HPj is naturally aspirated but has full Turbo body kit ( sills, bumpers etc ) you can spot odd differences like no tailgate lock. a-clements.co.uk has some pics but nothing recent. Andy
