Hi All, Thanks for all the encouragement and advice but mind is made up and i have now aquired a Rover P6b it is a real shame there is no more interest in the car by genuine Lotus owners on the forum. I now need the car gone asap now as i take del of my P6 this wed or thu so space is needed i will put the car on Ebay at the end of the week so anyone seriously interested get your skates on. Mark, Although i agree to a degree with what your saying but i will say it again ITS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING FITTED WITH A Rover engine if your meaning means the Rover bit being fitted is the (chopped about a bit) as you put it At the end of the day i have no guilt in selling this car on as i bought it i made a mistake i am selling it so whats the big issue It has a Galv chassis a Holley carb and Offey manifold fitted only needs a new owner with more enthusiasm than myself christ man most people would give thier right arm for these bits if they keep the marque on the road and its cheep

Hi Steve, The interior is in very good condition a bit saggy being nylon or whatever it is made from or is that how it ages you are about 180 miles from me ! If you were GENUINELY interested i would drop it to £800 if that helps with transportation costs but would want it moved as soon as you can Mark its got nothing to do with being (a home brewed engine swap) as you put it I like the idea of a rust free body and love the design of the Elite and having a Galvanised chassis as is no more rust worries and fitted with THE ROVER V8 engine makes it more attractive to me than the original 4 pot I am no electrics buff and openly admit it i hate the electrickery with a vengance and this is just beyond my miniscule brain i now have the chance of buying a tidy Rover P6b which i know like these cars like the back of my hand and wish i had not sold mine some 10 years ago so home is where the heart is me thinks

Hi All, Having bought my Elite only a month ago i am selling it as i cannot for the life of me fathom out the wiring problem i have no experience with Lotus cars and think buying one was a big mistake please read my previous posts for more info on the car. Thanks everyone for all the wiring diagrams me being the moron and my garage being that narrow i can hardly get in my Lotus i now discover the original diagram i have does relate to the wiring on my car albeit from under the fuse box in the footwell not from the engine bay doh

Hi Rex, Sounds daunting i am sure i will get there in the end the main problem as i said was the botched up alarm system plus the oplus igintion system was all tapped into each other and under the dash/footwell is a nightmare i have two plastic looking relay things under the dash (drivers side) they look original any ideas i will post a pic later

Thanks Rex i recieved the wiring diagram BUT it seems my Lotus is a mongrel ie the wires do not match the diagram so its back to basics and trying to trace wires back to where they originally came from but thanks anyway

Hi Dunc, Yes Tamworth in Staffs ie b77 5nf the starter motor turns freely so no probs there but no spark from coil i have removed most of the acme wiring shite but that many wires have been spliced and taped up its a bladdy joke

Hi All, Please has anyone got pic of a wiring diagram for a 1979 Lotus Eliite as my newly acquired motor has been fecked about with that much ie it was fitted with an acme cant be arsholed to fit it properly botch alarm system that seems to be tapped in to every wire a going I am still trying to work out whats original and whats not i have an OLD Elite workshop manual that is made up from parchment and seems to relate to every other car ever made but NOT a Lotus So please any info or advice very very much appreciated OR is there any kind knowledgable member in the Tamworth area who can perhaps come to my abode and help i can provide a few beer tokens
