Okay, thanks to MS69 I was able to get the bumper off, remove a badly damaged and corroded old OE reverse camera and fit the new Sony unit into the gap. I passed all the wires into the boot space and re-fitted the bumper. Not perfectly but it’ll do for now. Next problem.... The wires from the old camera are RED and BLACK from the power lead, and YELLOW WHITE and BROWN. The new camera has the RED and BLACK from the power cable and YELLOW RED and BLACK from the video lead. Power is self explanatory and I’m assuming yellow to yellow from the other lead. What do I do with the other 2?? 🤔

Okay, I will have a look. Where is the “headhunts” amp? Is it a dash board out job? Could this be the issue?

Swapped to the Mich 3 years ago. Still have the fronts. Rears last much better than the Pirelli. I did feel like a bit of a traitor to the car and to all of you guys when I made the decision but I’m pleased to see that I’m cool again 😎. Anyone tried a Bridgestone yet?

Okay I have the tech kit installed as mine was one of the original demo models. You guys seem to know your sh....stuff so please help me! I have the original Alpine Head unit/speakers/ and PXA-H100 audio processor. Apparently I have an amp somewhere too which I can now locate thanks! However, one of my speakers keeps cutting out randomly not just while driving but also stationary with no jolting/movement. All wiring has been checked and I’ve swapped the speaker cables (the problem transfers to the other side). So it’s not the speakers and I’m 90% confident in the wiring. Could it be this audio processor that’s causing it? NB sometimes when I turn up the Foo Fighters, it crackles back into action on both sides. There are days when it doesn’t have the problem.

Which episode is it, there are hundreds? I think I might need new units but I’ll have a go at refurb first if it’s just 3 bolts. The lights are turning brown inside 😔

Aha - good thinking. I checked the hazards but never thought about the alarm. if there is a fault, presumably it's the whole ICM that needs to come out? Logically that would be in the footwell box under the glove box somewhere right?

Thanks for that, I'll check the wiring. If it was in the column, would they still work with the hazard lights on ? A friend suggested resetting the ECU but I'm not sure how that could work?? It's got to be a hard fault somewhere. Wiring is now top of the list.

This is novice stuff I know but........ returning from a 3 week break, the car needed a jump start (which is always fun on an Evora for many many reasons). After getting it started, I took it out for a spin to clear the cobwebs and get some life back in the battery but half-way through my journey the left indicators stopped working. (Both) There's no relay sound from the glove box, nothing?? The right side works normally. With Hazard lights, only the right side works. Have I blown a fuse or is this a bigger issue? As I mentioned, I'm a complete car novice but when I take it to a garage I'm usually confronted with a man holding a spanner and a blank look as there are still people who are yet to see one of these cars let alone try and explain how it works. And when that happens, in my experience, I get a lot of 'blagging'

Anybody done a replacement on the camera themselves? Is it a full "bumper off" job or is there a fiddlier but easier way to do it? Got the Sony replacement but most of the garages and dealers sit and scratch their heads at it.

My 2009/10 Evora (278hp Launch Edition) needs a new shock absorber (apparently!) I am struggling a little bit to find them, adept as I am on the inter web thingy. When I google it, I keep getting adverts for women's sports bras which is nice but not what I need. can anyone point me in the right direction. Maybe give me some rough prices so that I can gauge how much I need to be nice to the wife? Perhaps she'd like a sports bra?

Michelin claim to make a decent replacement (pilot super sport), is anyone running this tyre on the road who can report? I've used a Michelin replacement instead of Bridgestone OE on previous performance cars and been happy. But these prices are a bit rich to be gambling with. If it's Pirelli then so be it.

Can I just check then.... If I spend £30 on a Sony, and not £200 on a replacement Alpine, the results are just the same? ( which means I can essentially afford to accidentally jet wash the camera 7 more times and still come out on top? How easy was it to fit?

I do love owning a car that gets you a wave from another owner. Big effort from a fellow owner to crawl along side me while we were queuing for the Dartford tunnel just so we could check each other's spec out. The Porsche owner looked a bit left out.
