  1. Hi Dave, I have a roof stereo to repair and fit, it has original comp 4 studs, fronts are a slightly different variation to the bond car though! Last 5 digits are 11035. If you discover anything interesting I would love to hear about it. My belief is that there are 6 surviving white dry sumps with 4 stud comps with the tobacco interior, at least one is in Australia. I am unsure why I think this though! Graham
  2. To lotusman33, My white dry sump turbo has the tobacco interior and Compomotive 4 studs. Currently registered OPW888W, however it was first registered with a cherished plate, so when I got it there was no original number to reallocate to it during the transfer off of the cherished plate it came with, so I went for the opportunity to be 'Bond sympathetic'!
  3. Hi Richard, Just seen your full and very interesting reply. I will pass the info on. Many thanks indeed. Graham
  4. Wow! Very interesting. Thank you for sharing. Do you still have the car?
  5. I am now reliably informed that CTW7X has a lovely set of gold four studs fitted! Oh, and before any one asks, the 5 studs have been fitted to a sister vehicle, so I don't think they are available. Hopefully we can see the cars either at Hethel when the dry sumps meet or perhaps en route if they are not mobile.
  6. Confirmed for the 3rd October. 4. G Jones
  7. 3rd October should be good for me also. I will see if Martin is free for us to pop past and see his gaggle of non road worthies.
  8. To confirm, 26 or 27 september good for me.
  9. 19/20 no good for our host, but I think the following weekend Sep 26/27 is ok. How does this suit everyone?
  10. Hi all, A friend of mine owns CTW7X, a dry sump copper coloured esprit turbo. Does anyone know any of the history of this car please? There is an undated photo of it somewhere on the net with skis fitted. There is an intriguing bit of wheel detail with this one. It currently has 5 stud compomotives fitted to it, however the hubs were clearly originally drilled for 4. Any info greatly appreciated! Graham
  11. Hi, Best weekend for the trip to Norfolk would be 12/13 September, how is everybody fixed for this date?
  12. From memory there are two white ones, one copper and one in black. One of the white ones is the fire damaged one I got from trevsked last year with my current car, and the other was the kit of parts sold at the silverstone auction last summer. Don't ask about 4 studs or 5 - that gets complicated!!!!!!!!! If others are interested then I will get some possible dates for you. Cheers
  13. Hi all, A friend of mine has 4 (yes 4!) dry sumps that are all in different stages of restoration. None of the cars are currently on the road, however he has plenty of room next to his garage to welcome the road worthy dry sumps, and would welcome a visit. He is near Swaffam in Norfolk, so perhaps we could tie this in with a visit to Hethel? Thoughts?
  14. Dry sump , 4. Graham, white with red stripes, Brighton.
  15. Hi Jonny, The car looks fab. Nice one. Graham
  16. As per the other posts, it was a fantastic day, many thanks to those that worked so hard to set it up and marshalled on the day. Superb variety of cars there today. Fab!
  17. 220. Graham Jones - white dry sump esprit turbo - Looking forward to it!
  18. Hi Trevor, Thanks for the info - as you say - I am lucky to have a spare hose - thanks for that too! It is not holed, looks like the hose is twin walled, 1st wall holed but second intact, so no major issues. Spotted it whilst changing the gear selector bushes - can't wait to drive it and feel the difference (if there is any!) Cheers G
  19. Hi All, We all know that we should all check for hoses etc rubbing and becoming damaged. On a recent check I found the flexible oil pipe on my Turbo Dry Sump has been rubbing on the metal pipe that connects the bottom of the two fuel tanks. Fortunately I have a spare - is changing it a simple job or are there access issues / bleeding the air out of the system problems? Any tips welcome! Thanks.
  20. Big thanks to Bibs and Laura - great afternoon, great cars and great people. Shame we had to leave early but really glad to have been there. Saw 2 BRG race prep Elises on a trailer on the M25 on the way home - one on top of the other - is that how Lotus produce their new models?
  21. Sounds great so: 14. Graham - Esprit Turbo Looking forward to meeting you all, (and your cars!) Graham

    Pit?

My pit is 8 foot long, 4 foot wide and 4 foot deep. It is perfect (by lucky chance!) most jobs can be tackled easily sat in on an old plastic patio chair! Would I put in a pit to an existing garage? Probably not worth the bother looking at the previous answers - but if you do I suggest keeping the pit cover planks separate, that way you can drive in with the pit covered (highly recommended when you are on your own) then lift out the planks as and when you need access. Keeping the pit dry needs two things - 1) a well sealed base (damp proof course) and sides (rubber paint etc on the outside of the bricks - only easy when starting from scratch), and 2) decent ventilation - mine condensated when I had close fitting planks - I took one away and spaced the remainder so it breathes and it has been dry ever since.
  23. It does have the tobacco leather - needs a little work (planned for the autumn) will retrim the head lining etc and fit my recently purchased roof radio at the same time. I got it all wired up to test it yesterday - got a bit of life out of it but no tunes yet. A bit of work to do on that one before fitting!
  24. I have a white dry sump with 4 stud compos (ex Trevor S) that I am about to fit a RM610 roof radio to - and hence take out the modern stereo and replace with a cubby hole and clock, as Essex sympathetically as possible. My car has no clock at the moment in either position - the picture posted with the clock on is very helpful - many thanks. To answer your question - mine is not an Essex and not quite an Essex spec, but I love it all the same!
