  1. The V8 is not fitted with the UN1-13. My understanding is that the crown wheel and pinion is not suitable. Due to the changes that Lotus made to this transaxle, I double that you will find any
  2. If I recall correctly, the UN1-13 was used in the Renault 21 Turbo. The most noticeable difference is the final drive of 3.44:1 Mike S
  3. The car will be delivered next week to me in Germany. I
  4. Porsche 928GTS was sold and I now have a nice low mileage Lotus Omega It is a great addition to the family....
  5. Congratulations Troy. Now you can really enjoy the fruit of your labours.
  6. cracking shot I would say from the angle of the car, that you were braking quite heavily
  7. Sorry Mark..... I had to edit your quote so that I could agree with you My GTS on Pistonheads Classifieds Got a guy coming to view it tomorrow and if all goes well, it will be tranforming into a Lotus Omega by the end of the week.
  8. Sorry, but you seem to be missing the point of my response. I
  9. Sorry to hear about your liner and crank problem - on the bright side, you
  10. The later GT1 and GT2 cars did utilise a flat floor with channels and venturis for ground effect. They had to make the best of this, because the shape of the cabin dictates that only the outer 8 inches or so of the rear wing, provide significant down-force. If you look at the front profile of the car, there is only clean airflow to the outer tips of the rear wing LEW Racer page
  11. The roof NACA is for a huge transmission oil cooler. On the later GT2 cars there were further NACA ducts located in the bodywork above the rear wheel arches for additional transmission oil coolers. Cooling was a very big deal on the endurance cars. Regarding downforce, I would suggest a front splitter to compliment any efforts to plant the rear. An interesting topic, and I look forward to seeing your improvements. Cheers, Mike S
  12. I would suggest that you contact Garry Kemp regarding potential upgrades to the 2.2 race engine. garrykemp@lineone.net He is definately one of the top-men on the Lotus 910 engine. Cheers, Mike S
  13. The Le Mans S300 race has a different profile to the road car - it is both higher and longer than the road equivalent, with the rear of the spoiler being much further back than the rear edge of the transom. Your car certainly appears to have the standard road version. see: Sport300 racer The GT2 rear wing is a bi-plane wing and it not available as far as I know. The only versions that I have seen were either originals or spares. see: Early GT2 The later evolution of the GT1 (and GT2) racer moved to using a single plane, deep profile wing with two instead of 3 supports; The centre support was deemed as unnecessary. If you want to look at the later GT2 rear wing you can see it on my project car. see: GT1 homepage Cheers, Mike S
  14. Yes - very sensible advice; I forgot to mention the precautions if using air.
  15. I am surprised that the holes totally fill-up with dust..... but you could give them a blast with a compressed air-line to dislodge the deposits.
