I saw a laser blue, 15k miles one, go up on Facebook v6 exige group a few days ago. Looked pretty good. Was advertised at 44k

@C8RKH that's interesting. Getting a test drive of the polestar is a real pig - looks like the nearest place is an event in Cambridge next week, an hour or so away! The problem with having no dealers, or living in one of the cities eligible for a "bring the car to you" thing.
I've had a go in an I3 and a mini electric, so I know the use case works for us; but if the choice is spending £20k on a used I3 that will continue to depreciate, needs insurance and maintenance, or £450 net on a salary sacrifice for something new that I'm not responsible for, it's a bit of a no brainer. Of course, if we have to change the family car we'd be getting something with an ICE, and I've got the GT4 for fun also!

Sadly, the exige is now up for sale with Silverstone and will be replaced with an EV in due course. It will be the second family car, used for short/medium distance journeys at most. A salary sacrifice scheme seems to be the way to go if offered by ones employer - unless I'm missing something the car comes fully taxed, maintained and insured for one monthly payment that comes off gross salary. Kind of makes it a bit of a no-brainer if you are a higher rate taxpayer... I'd quite like a polestar.
I had a go in a taycan turbo S last week on a Porsche experience day. Absolutely, totally, 150% mental performance - 0-95mph-0 within 300m distance is unbelievable. However, no one needs instantaneous 750hp and torque, I ended up feeling motion sick by the end and it felt pretty soulless to drive. I imagine the lotus EVs will be along the same lines - they aren't for me, I much prefer to go slower in a V6 exige or cayman GT4!

Great evening at Snetterton this week Got some proper heat into the R1Rs and they really performed. The car was epic again - she's not the most civilised of places to be if you are just pootling around even with all the improvements but it all makes sense once you get on it.
Have picked up a couple of stone chips now but such is life. Ppf is generally doing the job though.

Went to Bedford in February, the exige was epic if a bit too loud and I've got the bug back.

One more left on the Exige's insurance. Would like to do Brands GP but it's so expensive, could go to Spa for less money! Will take the Megane if I want to do more than 5 this year.

Trip to Bedford today, trying out my new 2bular H1 QP for noise. While fine on static at 94db, although testing at a 4.5k rev limit seemed very low to me, 89.2db on the driveby at 6.5k was less than ideal. Black flag plus warning, took it much more carefully the rest of the day without further issues. Hopefully Jim will get me the add on silencer in the next week or so. I knew it was a risk without the add on and I was happy to manage it. Still saw 130 indicated on the back straight and it's wonderful in the corners. The lack of weight is noticeable everywhere after the heavy V6 cars.
Otherwise, that's the first long day of driving under the wheels. It's an epic car, properly well sorted as a driving experience. Pretty comfortable on long distance cruise and, while loud in the cabin, the radio is clear and a set of earplugs gets rid of the wind noise. Could do with a new set of boots I think, 09 stamped r1rs on the front didn't get as sticky as I would have expected and i didnt have as much confidence on the brakes or on turn in. Probably still worth using up the rears though before changing all 4 for something more modern and sticky. Couple of niggles- a rattle from the drivers seat, think its the runners as usual - and a 'cubby hole' in the dash on the passenger side where the tags that slot in the dash have gone brittle with age and snapped off. Need to find a way to fix it as it's hanging open and annoying me, though Hangar 111 have already had a go, and obtained a quote for a new one from lotus. Just the 500 quid plus vat!
To be clear, I haven't bought this car to lock away in a garage as an investment. I'm planning to use it properly, enjoy it fully and can't see myself moving it on unless it damages my hearing! There wasn't a car at Bedford today that i would've swapped it with (even the lovely 420 final edition).

From experience of trying to sell my essex blue/red interior hethel edition last year, it will be the red interior. It doesn't photograph well easily and isn't everyone's cup of tea in the first place (crazy as it sounds).

I love those laser blue 410s. I saw the one Castle had for sale for a few months at the end of 2021 and loved it but I just couldn't get over/wife maths successfully the price. It was basically the same price the first owner paid for it brand new. So like you guys, I then did the man maths and thought a new one on 50:50 would make sense. Offered in early December for one of Silverstone's stock cars they've had for ages but couldn't get a deal agreed once 50:50 was thrown in.
But, the good thing about trying to get the wife over the hill on an 80k plus car is that when a unicorn fully restored 2010 Cup 260 is offered to you, whatever the price you agree with the seller of it seems reasonable to the Mrs!

Aimee sold my Hethel Edition in the summer. Took a few weeks but no complaints really. Much harder to sell an Evora privately at this price point, unless someone is looking on the facebook page and has posted a wanted ad I wouldn't try really.
PS no regrets selling mine when I did, but I couldn't cope for long without a Lotus in the garage!

Now that it's in my garage I guess I should disclose that I have bought this car! And, without having driven it more than 10 feet, due to a minor issue with private plate transfers and V5s, it seems totally lovely and a credit to the work Paul has done. It needs a service on time and has a stupidly loud larini clubsport on at the moment, which I'm going to swap back for a 2bular, but otherwise its an absolute honey. Carbon fibre absolutely everywhere. Oh my. I can't wait to get it on the road but it's going to have to wait to 2022 looking at the weather forecast!

CC won't let you ask what the reserve is, so not surprising! I expect it is going to go to 80k plus over the next few hours, and a dealer will retail it for over 90k. I know that Castle are looking at it...

Did Lotus change the standard spec of the 20th anniversary as time went on? There is a laser blue one on Autotrader at Lotus Bradford that seems to have the final edition steering wheel and an AIM dash, and a second one at Castle with standard analogue clocks and a normal round wheel. I'm going to Castle tomorrow; although it's advertised at a price that's close enough to a new 420 on 50:50 finance to make one of them an option...

@TroyboyI say this in all seriousness because its right at the top of my budget now with the buyers premium and I suspect its going to go for 80k plus... 200 miles on track is nothing on any Exige. I did plenty of trackdays in my V6 over the 3 and a half years I owned it and you wouldn't have known apart from a little gravel rash up the ppf on the sides behind the doors, a usual thing.
At 80k plus premium, it's basically a brand new car for 30% less than list. Silverstone have a solid yellow cup for sale at 86k, with 10k miles on it. This should attract a premium to that imo. If I had more budget I'd be bidding to at least that level even with the premium in top. If you can afford it and are really considering it as an upgrade on yours- and I think it is, even though yours does look lovely - I don't see that there is anything to put you off. Still got another year or so of warranty on it even.
As it is I'm not sure I will bid again, though I'll see where it is with 24 hours to go. There's a couple of nice 410s for sale currently that also interest me, I'm going to see one on Friday.

I'm also interested in the car so.... I'd be totally put off the the track mileage. Its an absolute shed, wouldn't touch it with yours that's for sure. It's been ragged to death by a wannabe Nick Mazepin and is no doubt going to grenade itself 3 minutes after the winning bidder picks the car up. And the spec is all wrong. And it looks awful, definitely the ugliest Exige I've ever seen. Definitely don't bid on it. For sure. Leave it alone.

I saw the car at Colchester today. Had a good chat with a chap from the factory, had a sit in the car. And, while I thought it looked stunning externally (looks like a 488 only better), and internally was a massive step on from any previous lotus........ I'm going to get my deposit back. It's a proper second car aimed at a family with older children/no children. In those circumstances I'd be happy to drive an Emira as my daily while the wife has a big SUV or estate as the "family car". I have nothing but positive thoughts towards it from that perspective, if I were looking for a replacement for a Cayman/old ferrari/M2/C63/whatever (dare I say it, an Evora), I'd be all over it. But......
I don't need that. The Emira can't replace my megane for daily duties - it's too nice and looks too much like a supercar. And it costs too much money. But it also can't replace my 7 as a toy/track car - I tracked my Evora, it was great at it and I'm sure the Emira will be the same. But it won't be as bonkers as a 7, it will cost a lot to run, it's not raw enough and actually, I'm not sure it's special enough to be a toy. Seeing all the Exiges Colchester had lined up in the sun actually hammered home the mistake I'd made selling my V6 exige almost 4 years ago. Come the new year I will seriously consider replacing the 7 for one of the last Exiges but, for me, the Emira is a lovely car that doesn't fit into my life at the current time.

I had an integrale Evo 2 - only had 216HP IIRC - and I never once thought it needed more oomph. I also had one of Rover 220 Turbo Coupes back in the early 90s and that was certified dangerous.

Just like skiing and motorcycling, it is that grin as you break the law of physics that makes a true sports car.
My 145hp Caterham Superlight with the Caterham close ratio 6 speed box is properly mental.....
I'm going AMG (or nothing, as giving up said mental 7 would be a total kick in the nuts at this time) but I am concerned that the V6 version won't necessary have the performance to back up the looks. It's the same power train as the Evora and that means 2nd gear goes beyond the legal speed limit.... It will still be a fast car, particularly on a track but I would be surprised if it's considered scary by anyone.

Soooooo... if/when my cup 260 is sold (currently available at Lotus Silverstone if anyone is interested), I'm looking at getting into a final edition V6 exige, probably a 390.
Given that it's running the Evora 400 power train I assume it will be pretty damn loud. I want to do some trackdays so guess an aftermarket silencer is needed. Are there any new options on the market in this regard? I've not had a problem with 2bular personally, bought one for my 260 a couple of years ago and it's been great (although a little slow in delivery). But interested to see if there's anything new. I'm aware of the usual larini/komotec/H111/Quiksilver options obviously.
