  1. Cheers for the replies guys - some interesting points to look into. I am interested to see how it is with the Motul-300 fluid having previously ran on the stock Lotus fluid - that may well result in an improvement. Never awful by any means, just didn't like to be rushed when hot - this may well be a characteristic/limitation of the box anyway. I would add it was only at Silverstone I noticed this, never at Spa or any other track and it was a hot day which may have emphasized it.
  2. Hi All, Wondering if anyone has fitted this gearbox cooler from Jubu? JUBU Performance - (jubu-performance.com) Reading their write up it obviously sounds good, but would be good to know first hand from anyone with it fitted. Did notice before at Silverstone sometimes changes from 4th to 5th would seem to get a tad crunchy when hot. For this year have upgraded to Motul 300 anyway so that should help, have always changed gearbox oil each year additionally but if I can keep it cooler through fitting this I would. They have some lovely items on their website, the sequential box they do would be rather lovely... 😏
  3. Hi All, just wondering how many people replace the rubber sump baffles every 2 years. The manual says 2Yrs/18k miles however have read many conflicting comments on this forum where it’s not necessary that frequently. Interestingly it doesn’t seem to be part of the 2Yr fixed price service either
  4. Hi Everyone, Putting my Nov'21 420 FE up for sale. One of 34 UK 420's and the only one like this with black pack delete. Car will be on c10.5k miles. Only reason for sale is to release funds to move to an Atom 4, but will happily keep if a sale doesn't come through. Car is stock besides an Apple Car Play headset, a pioneer setup. The car has been maintained very thoroughly, with 4x oil changes and I had the gearbox oil changed last November by Lotus Silverstone. Always stored in my garage, with hubs and other exposed parts coated in ACF 50. I am reluctant to go down the dealer route if possible, especially while the car is under warranty until November 2024. Save the buyer money and work better for me, however I am more than happy for any inspection to go ahead at buyers cost. Several dealers have advised a selling point in the £80's, so putting up for £78k. Car is located in Hertfordshire. Any questions do reach out. 5. Hi Inversed, for myself I ordered the harness bar from Seriously Lotus (unless you meant this vs simply Lotus?) and Schroth Harnesses. Quite an easy install with no additional hardware required. I do have carbon seats however, so if you meant Seriously Lotus above that won't work. Maybe otherwise try and find an older harness bar? When I got mine they had just come out with it for the carbon seats, but must be a few older style bars around.
  6. Hi Guys, Thinking of switching up later in the year and changing from Exige 420 to an Atom 4, preferably with a sequential box. Originally put a deposit down on the Atom a few years back so need to decide whether to stick or twist. Went out in an Atom 4 with a sequential box recently and was blown away by it, so light and insanely fast. Admittedly the sensation of speed is a lot higher when you can see the track and have the flies hitting your helmet. Also had a passenger ride last year in Spa in an Atom 4, only car my neck has ever ached from after! My current use of the car is pretty much just for TD's throughout the year. Don't get much enjoyment from it on the road, crap roads locally etc etc. So not worried about having to trailer the Atom. Have heard a lot from Atom owners, seems the majority originally came from a Lotus of some description at one point. Interested to hear if anyone has gone the other way round, or if anyone owns both and has an opinion. Specifically with an Atom 4 would be great. Cheers.
  7. Thank You for posting - I indeed saw that and spoke to him. Exact same thing although he said my car actually sounds worse than his did, with his SC replaced at 4,600 miles (my car on 5k). He said replacement cost was £6k, so potentially this explains the lack of willingness from Lotus to replace unless broken. Have 3 more track days booked this year, then car is going back to dealer for oil change so will have it looked at again then.
  8. Cheers for the responses guys. Haven't driven the car in a while having been abroad with work, but when back will listen to see if it happens when on the move. I have a feeling it will eventually need replacing under warranty, but at least it's logged with Lotus. Just hope if it does go it won't be off the road for a while in peak usage season which would be a pain but we'll see...
  9. Got a set from South West Lotus Centre now
  10. As per the title, looking to get a second set for track use to fit some ZZR's to. If anyone has any for sale please message me. Thank You
  11. Hi Guys, As background my car is a 2021 Exige 420, with c5,000 miles on the clock. I did a roadtrip this summer around Europe and on the way back noticed my supercharger was starting to make a rattling sound. I took the following video and sent it to Lotus Silverstone (closest dealer), where I was advised not to drive the car anymore and get it delivered to them on a truck. Would they pay for this? No. Not great given the car is in its warranty period, but the car comes with AA assistance so they took it there on a flat bed. Fine, although not off to the best start. I must give full credit to Rita from Lotus Silverstone, as she was been incredibly helpful and willing throughout this (I get the sense her hands are tied by Lotus themselves). Rita heard the car and video, agreed it doesn't sound right and wanted to get a claim in for a new supercharger. Firstly however it needed sign off by Lotus, so an engineer from Hethel came out to Silverstone and looked at the car. His verdict was its normal and therefore no sign off for a new supercharger from them. Lotus Silverstone have their hands tied, and car returned to me as it went to them. I'm not overly delighted about this, given the car was £85k and sounds like a bag of loose bolts. I was at the Salon Prive event with LDC and got two other owners to start up their 410's right next to mine and they didn't make this horrid rattle so i'm not convinced it's right... Given i'm not an engineer, i'll have to accept what the engineer from Hethel is saying and I do have a warranty until Nov'2024 so if it fails the cost will still be on Lotus anyway although I would appreciate any second opinions from 410/420/430 owners. Do your superchargers make this sound? Silverstone track day booked in November with LoT as well as Spa. Will get a Bedford in also soon so hope the car has no issues.... Thanks Guys, Charles
  12. Good idea on the thread Will. Booked: Silverstone: 21/03 - LoT Bedford: 25/02 - MSV Brands Hatch GP: 23/06 - MSV Anglesea: 01/07 - Javelin Spa: 01/08 - LoT Silverstone: 10/11 - LoT I would really like to do a Goodwood day, but I think i'll be busy enough with the above! @Gashead1105 MSV had Brands Hatch GP on June 23rd for £325, it is sessioned but a lot cheaper than the usual £450+. 7 runs of 20 mins each.
  13. Did you end up having to remove much interior trim such as the vent mounting panel? The video from Pioneer on install made it look not so bad including getting the wire for the screen through. Shall find out once it arrives however
  14. Hi Guys, have ordered the EVO62DAB-UNI also - looks pretty sleek! Assuming everyone disconnected the negative battery terminal first to avoid risk of shorting anything by accident?
  15. Hi Guys, new to the forum here (and Lotus ownership). I make up one of the UK 420 owners, collected the car back in November from Hendy in Poole. See photos including one from a brake clean at weekend. Be interesting to see the final numbers on these and what the certificate of provenance says later on.
