  1. I was convinced that pearl white was the best colour for the V6 but I think that picture has just changed my mind
  2. I did a factory tour last year (didn't see my car on the production line though) and really enjoyed it. I'm sure you will have fun
  3. Maybe it was a glitch but I got 2 bought this morning. I had been keeping an eye on it like as last month the same thing happened. I just bought them due to price, don't actually need them right now. It's odd that price goes from one extreme to other like its never somewhere in middle
  4. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s66p101131/Pirelli_Tyres_Car_Pirelli_PZero_Corsa_Asimmetrico_2_Pirelli_P_Zero_-_265_35_R18_97Y_XL_(LS)_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_E_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_73dB £132 rather than usual £180
  5. If its the same as an Elise then you need to take door card off as you need to squash two bits of plastic in on back to get it out. taking door card off is easy enough like.. just don't forget the little plastic one hidden at bottom corner where door handle is, again assuming same as elise.
  6. Agreed. Spending £500 on something you can't even see though would be hard to stomach
  7. Chris has the road system you could always be cheeky and bypass exhaust solenoid for the static test. They wouldn't know ?
  8. How many kidneys does one need to sell to purchase one of those?
  9. If someone made a replica louvred panel for £300-£400 I think it would be worth it. any more and I would agree with Imran. I also enjoy the actual process of doing a car job as much as the finished results too.. maybe I should learn to play golf
  10. I would be interested in this too. From reading forums and seeing the "optional ohlins" against every latest ring record I think Ohlins are better.. whether they are the extra cost better over a set of Nitrons someone who knows what they are talking about could probably comment.
  11. If you have a local track nearby I would be very tempted to get a sound check before the actual day. I think you might struggle with the road system. Hopefully I am wrong though.
  12. That puts it about 3.65 kg. sounds about right with weight saving of 3kg and louvred panel weighing half a kilo
  13. I could be interested but actually want the louvres as additional cooling is always going to be of benefit. Is nobody able to make a straight copy of the S350 panel. Il admit I wouldn't know where to start with it. I bet the wing is a significant contributor to weight on the boot lid too. If I had to guess I would imagine the whole boot lid complete with wing would be 10-12kg.
  14. I actually like the look of the louvred panel, possibly because I'm not put off by lack of rear visibility after having an S240 before the v6. Equally after witnessing first hand effect of heat on intercooler on that car I know the benefits of keeping engine cool. Maybe if people don't like the louvred panels a few will end up on eBay. I wonder if that company could make a louvred panel
  15. I bet. I absolutely love my v6. Congrats
  16. £6.5k is a big difference. from reading your original post I thought it was a lot less than that.
  17. When I saw the pictures of the S350 I honestly thought it would be about £300/£400 or so for the panel. I prefer the look of it and its lighter and allows more engine cooling so no down side in my eyes apart from the insane pricing. For a "reasonable" price I think lotus would have these flying out of the door. I cant imagine there being a meeting at Hethel where someone says "we can replace the glass boot cover and save 3kg but its going to put the price of car up £2k" and someone thinking that was good idea.. some of the aftersales prices really boggle the mind. From lotus: The louvered panel simply replaces the original fit glass – this would need to be cut out and the new panel bonded in – there are no other changes, though of course the heated rear window is deleted.
  18. No Brainer. Buy the 350.. surely you will get extra money back in long run. Given the louvred bootlid is £1800+VAT from lotus then surely you can recoup at least half that if you want the glass panel.... Makes me wonder why none of the aftermarket companies haven't started selling a louvred panel replacement at a reasonable price. I have only seen a complete boot lid.
