Hello, I recently purchased an Esprit S1 with 907 engine upgraded with an electronic ignition system. Before I start the car I have to press the gaspedal 3 or 4 times to build up pressure. Can someone explain why and is there a modification that makes starting the car easier? Thanks!!

Does anyone know the cross reference on the indicator and wiper switches of a 77 Esprit S1?

Can I switch the turn signal stalk on an LHD Esprit S1 to the left side of the steering wheel and the wiper stalk to the right side? What happened here? Seen a few Esprit S1’s where they have switched sides. Can it be reversed?

Anyone interested in changing their V8 GM airbag steering wheel for the Momo Daytona that came with the GT? I have a spare that I am willing to sell.

Thanks Mike, you always take the time to answer my questions. I will have my mechanic check the mounts. What about the Idle Air Control Valve? Could this also be the cause?

My question is probably answered elsewhere, but I can not find the threads that are relevant. When the engine idles below 1000 RPM (around 900 I think), there is a very nasty vibration of the engine. It does not feel good. When I slightly raise the RPM to 1000 the vibration disappears. Any idea's what this can be? I wish I could raise the idle speed just to 1000 RPM. Thanks!

Hello Mike, They are still working, but need major servicing at some point. Instead I was thinking of fitting new ones. Hopefully there are turbo's that have become more reliable. I am reading about these 360 thrust bearings that people seem to recommend. Can you advise me?

Dave, another question about the valence. These also differ between Europe and the VS. The VS one has a much bigger hole with mesh. Can you explain the difference to me? Which one is better?

Dave, one more question. Does this part connect with the airbox cover in my parts manual image or does it replace the twin airbox cover because it is included in the assembly?

Hello, I am about to restore a Lotus Esprit S1. I have to choose an airbox because there are two versions (part 5 and 6). See attached image. What is the difference between the two? Is one of the two better? Which do I choose?

Thank you Mike, I own my Esprit V8 already for a long time but are not as knowledgable as you guys so excuse me for asking but who makes this double radiator and what are the cost of these? Just out of curiosity, why did they decide to make two separate radiators and not just one higher capacity for both systems? Is the coolant running through the charge cooler system not the same coolant running through the original system or is the extra radiator added to just create extra capacity?

Hello Esprit V8 gentlemen, I (Christiaan S from NL) would also like to be added to the list of buyers for the V8 double charge cooler system. One question. Does the charge cooling system depend on the radiator? I recently installed an aluminium radiator from Wizard Cooling. Will that be a problem?

It would be nice to have a reference of the estimated labour time it 'roughly' takes to do maintenance/repairs/replacements/modifications for some of the Esprit V8 specific tasks. It would help to budget for future maintenance/modifications and check invoices. I would like to know the labour for the following tasks : timing belts - engine rebuild - gearbox rebuild - new clutch - new radiator - new condensors - new brake discs and pads - new suspension - new fuel tanks - new exhaust. A rough estimate/range in hours is sufficient.

I am also having difficulties finding 235/40/17 tyres. I have Toyo right now. Is 245/40/17 the next best alternative in size? What would be the effect of having a slightly wider front tyre? Could you compensate with tyre pressure?

Thanks Derek, yes, you are correct, I made a mistake and cross referenced the ACDelco 214-1091/GM 15759044 with the wrong part. I am trying to find a cross reference and picture for Lotus part A082P4461F, the water valve!

I would like two know if these two different Lotus V8 part numbers are actually the same item. A082P4461F (diagram 18.05-06) and A082L6210F (diagram 44.05-22)? ACDelco 214-1091 and GM 15759044 are crosse reference part numbers for the A082P4461F. Is A082L6210F the same part? They look very similar.
