  1. I've also experienced this problem with either standard pads or Pagid RS14 and they are not the culprit. But the drilled discs, yes. There is many reasons for that and I'm a bit too lazy to describe all of them so I suggest that you have a look a this http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/technical-white-papers/-warped-brake-disc-and-other-myths Concerning the solutions, I would go for Alcon grooved discs from Seriously Lotus. I already used alcon discs on many racing cars (lotus and more heavy one) and they were always on top.
  2. Yes, there is wheel spin due to open dif and overpowered engine. And even Gavan applied too much throttle on the chicane with cold tyres On his second lap, better trip from the tyres and less throttle solved the problem
  3. Without any assistance, V6S is over powered. To deal with that Lotus choose the electronic way with DPM system instead of mechanical LSD (I know that the chassis responsible at Lotus doesn't like LSD ). LSB should be good if you drive only with all assistance disconnected, but not necessary better than with DPM... sometimes it's just a question of personal taste and compromise If you disslike DPM, you can improve the way your car behave by tweaking different geometry points as for example more toe-in at the rear and/or change the ride heigh balance. In other hand, based on logging on your videos, you apply to much throttle during cornering... friction circle is the maximum amount of trip you can get from your tyres in all direction... if lateral G are equal to 1.2G, it would be difficult for your rear tyres to deal with full throttle. Try to enter lately and a little bit slowly in the corner and then once counter-act on the sterling wheel you can start apllying power. PS: Evora400 is a different car, so we cannot say this would be nice on Exige because Evra has it
  4. Back from Spa with Lotus On Track this sunday. Once again a great trackday as usual with LOT. Not the better day for laptime, with a damp track all the day and lot of traffic jam but I could already feel that my new setting is far better. Finally, I've only changed a bit of camber in front-right in order to get same value on both side and increased heavily rear toe-in. This made the car more predictable and a good balance. I'll go back to Spa this saturday with Bookatrack and hopefully this will be dry.
  5. 28 mins in the video. If I remember well.... begining of afternoon (14:00) Yes, it is. Smartycam to SoloDL to CAN OBDII connector. Complete setup and really easy to use as it start/stop automaticely. Sound and video quality is not so good than a GoPro, but far more usefull.
  6. @T3Jn At 00:28, one of the 2 LF1 present this day... maybe you
  7. In my case, I'd like to add Youtube video within a viewer... I already succède in the past but couldn't find the way anymore
  8. I couldn't find this "more reply options" button...

    V6S vs V6 Cup

Yes, box 20-21 with Lotus Wallonie team. But my car (black with white stripe) stayed outside most of the time because I was was mainly there for driver coaching. So, I spent my time in the passenger seat I could only drive 4 sessions of 3 laps during "track experience" for customers including one which is (was) a Porsche driver... before the end of the warming lap he said: "OK, you can stop! I want one of those car"

    V6S vs V6 Cup

@T3Jn Sorry to ear you had some troubles Yesterday wasn't the best day to do comparison laps at Spa due to track conditions (not completely dry and lot of people)... at least 4 sec slower than a good day. Moreover, it's really difficult to make a side by side comparison of track tyres because they are quite different on a setting point of view. I've done this kind of test in the past on my Elise Mk1 when I was looking for the best between R888 and A048. When putting R888 on a car set for A048, the Yoko was the winner. But once the camber was correctly modified, the R888 offered the best performance.
  11. Many thanks Jack for this detailed explanation. In fact I did'nt took time to check yet. My analysis was based on (wrong) informations coming from the garage where I bought the car. I've performed a geometry today and I get 2.4° at the rear and 2.0 at the front (all shim plates removed). But I did'nt have time to try something new at the rear so I let it like this and just changes toe settings. I will try this new setting on sunday @ Spa-Francorchamps. You are right about relation between camber and braking distance. But with more camber, lateral grip should compensate. Automotive is always a compromise story... what you earn somewhere, you lose it elsewhere. Honnestly speaking, 1.0° of front camber is really few for track use. Moreover with racing tyres which require a minimum amount of camber to perform well. The only way to know what's give you the best result is a decent data logger. You'll then be able to compare long and lat acceleration
  12. I would really appreciate some explantion on the way you get more camber at the rear "by relocating the guide plate for the eccentric" With standard settings, I can only have 2.2° of camber at the rear...
  13. Hi Jack, Could you explain this point? some pictures, DIY,... would be greatly appreciated
  14. Here are some feedbacks from Mettet and Spa... on both I was very busy with coaching, so I just managed to drive 1 short session. But before reporting about the feeling, I need to talk a bit of the modifications done compared to last time. I finally got some Pagid RS14 for the front The caster was increase to achieve +/-2.8° Avon ZZR were fitted Rear ride height was drop a little bit to achieve +/-136mm As I said, I didn't had time for a long preparation before going on track. It means that tyre pressure and damper settings were set as for road use... which was not a good idea even on these cold days... because it only allow 1 or 2 laps within the correct temperature window. On a small track like Mettet you can feel the weight but the engine largely compensates this point thanks to amount of torque. With semi-racing tyres I can now take advantage of my 1.8° of front camber on the curves but it's still costing me some tenths on braking. The front end is really sharp but then rear tend to oversteer easily... which is good for slow bends but not for high speed or long curves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj3XkBgJjbU On Spa the same conclusions apply. But there, the laptime is build on high speed curves... if you are not confident on the rear end, you loose ton of seconds in "raidillon", "pouhon" and "Blanchimont". Due to the trafic this day, I've not beaten my own laptime, but after analyzing the datas I get a feasible 2'48" (video of Spa will follow) In conclusion, I really need to focuse on rear grip. For improve this beahaviour, I will work on 3 axes: Too much rake... I think the front is too low (+/-115mm) compare to the rear which is'nt good for rear grip. And because the bumpsteer is not settable at either end, I should stay near the Lotus specifications. I use the same amount of toe-in than on Cup R cars. But due to difference in spring rates and aero balance, I will go for a little more toe-in Last but not least, find the correct tyre pressure
