  1. The Evora is a more exciting car and will be rarer. If you have a nice one I would hold on to it! I've now had a few drives of the Emira and it doesn't wow you in the same way an Evora does. That is if the car is running - Both my tests were delayed or cancelled and rescheduled because of problems with the car.
  2. Call from Lotus today, was December Build, Jan Delivery. Additional delay and being told January Build Feb delivery, Others have two month delay.
  3. The Emira is good value in todays market. Chassis is so competent it makes the performance feel good but not extreme because it just takes it. Foot hard down in a 718 or 911 GTS and you back off pretty quickly as it feels dramatic. Foot hard down in the Emira even in the rain and no drama - although it's very quick. Arguably Lotus is a better chassis if less dramatic. I doubt Mercedes will ever allow a high tune I4 beyond what they use themselves. There will undoubtedly be a GT430 V6 but that's probably as powerful as it will go and that will be far more than the current model. Difficult to see the price on the current model holding past the year end orders. Its a great car to drive, gives so much confidence.
  4. Just had an update from the lovely people at customer care. They confirmed my build and delivery unchanged, which I find very hard to believe given the number of deliveries so far against the numbers in the Harry’s Farm video. I had hoped it was ‘the call’ to start the checkout process but no. Re the infamous demo’s email I was told the ‘original’ plan was to space out the emails but that was changed and they all went out together. As I and a number of others still havent even had an email I pointed out that was not correct and I understand that test drives are booked out. Given that I was assured I would get a drive before committing I asked what would happen if I couldn't get the demo and I wanted to delay the car until I could. I was told that they hadnt had that yet so didnt know!! You might think someone in the management would have thought about that surely? I then asked if I wanted to delay the car until I could get the demo would I be kicked in 2024? I was told they didnt know but if it could be delayed I would be charged storage!!!! So they are 7 months late and if I want to delay a month or two they now charge me. After all the mess ups with bookings , deposits and now reports of demo’s being held up with ECU warning lights I would love to ask Lotus who actually is in charge of the Emira project, it smacks of a project being controlled by multiple groups with zero cohesion.
  5. Yes, maybe I should wait for a final edition !
  6. Told June, then July, then September, then October, then December build slots. October was ‘locked in” , now they have reverted to January and saying it is an estimate only at this stage. No invitation email to test drive and all slots full and my most local dealer had to stop test drives after the first two this morning and have heard another one elsewhere withdrew after warning light came on. Loyalty being tested !
  7. Customer support whilst as helpful as they can be, have no direct contact with the factory, just get issued with what to say. I contacted them today about my build slot and got exactly the same response as they sent me a month ago despite only a fraction of cars having gone out compared to what was being said 4 weeks ago. They haven't had an updated schedule for a while. I am expecting the next delay email shortly🥱
  8. Well on current form they are struggling with one! The electric car will have to be a pretty different platform I would have thought, the in car infrastructure to support an electric power train is quite different.
  9. That is way behind what was being suggested only a couple of weeks ago, very hard to see how you really ramp up from that given ‘parts shortage’ has been the problem for twelve months and things may not markedly improve in the foreseeable future. Very frustrating for the factory as well as us and its now become a real headache for the management whose time is focussed on electric and SUV’s -understandably. SUV’s if good will, like porsche be maybe 70-80% of target production. Given their commitment to producing an electric sports car out of Hethel in a couple of years plus the work still needed still on the I4 one wonders if production is going to be cut back significantly from original plans. Could FE mean both first edition or final edition 🙂
  10. One of the first 30 depositors, no email yet and all dealers within 100miles only have sports suspension which I have not ordered. Given what I have read on here it sounds very unlikely there will be any slots left (when/if I get an email) before I have to commit to the purchase. Given the number of ‘flip’ requests I have been told directly that some dealers have been asked about and the state of the economy I think there are a lot of speculators out there hoping for a premium which is looking less likely. I have no intention of flipping, but if I cant try the car, get it and don’t rate it, it would be a pretty poor result after all this time if I cant sell it on without loss. As a very long term multiple Lotus owner this is again disappointing. They should simply have let the “agents” deal with their own customers. Having watched some of the Eletre interviews you cant help thinking that the Emira is such a tiny part of the plan as they switch to electric that the global management team are focussed elsewhere. The Emira has done its job in maintaining attention whilst they transition, but is now just a footnote and whether they actually deliver 5000 or 30,000 is probably irrelevant in the bigger plan. I have just been offered a lovely GT4 but suspect its a bit too hard for a regular ( albeit not daily ) car, but at least its available, of proven build and residuals and it certainly has me thinking.
  11. Has anyone test driven the Emira and a GT4. I am expecting the Emira To be quieter and ‘softer’ than a GT4 and wonder if anyone has had a gt4 and driven theEmira?
  12. I know of one other delivery but I do wonder if every car is going through a seperate approval process
  13. Ive lost track of updates, there have been so many. I have visions of British leylad with people wondering around opening random boxes and then working out what they can build😂
  14. Congratulations, looks great. Amazing interior colour Is that a standard leather colour?
