  1. Nicely done sir! 24mm is a noticeable shift. Good to know it's a viable option.
  2. @farook FYI, you can't have a chargecooler before the supercharger. You can only cool down towards ambient temperature not below it, unless you use some form of refrigeration. So you always cool after the compression, so that you have heat in the charge that "wants" to move into the cooler fluid.
  3. Unfortunately DJI totally underestimated the pre-order load and are looking at a bit more of a wait than hoped. Even direct orders are looking like start of November for orders placed after the first two days. Mine was Day 3. Blimey!
  4. @550superfast Going by things that have been said at earlier stages, I'm guessing a couple of weeks tops, unless something crops up. @Arun_D It's going to be very interesting to see our two cars side by side. Two quite different approaches to special red. I bet there's a colour of light that makes them look quite similar though.
  5. This was one I found that pushed me towards red... Same body colour, but if the calipers were black, they'd be visually lost. Maybe I could get them gold enamelled
  6. Don't you start! Lotus suggested the same and I said no, after having done some image searching and thinking. Also yellow was way too Ferrari wannabe. No, with satin black wheels I think they'd just look dull as black. A couple of pages earlier on this thread, compare the Chrome Red GTE with red calipers to the Corvette with black ones. To my eye, the red ones work better. Looks odd in the pic above because you're seeing the caliper directly against the paintwork, not shadowed by and slightly hiding inside the wheels. We shall see...
  7. Ooooooh... Can't tell if there's an engine in there yet, but the red is looking good. Looks a little desaturated on my monitor, but fab on my iPad Pro.
  8. Glad to hear that. I guess I'm just not used to trackdays with such high turnouts and so much questionably track ready hardware / "mixed levels of driver optimism". The Javelin organisers did seem like a nice bunch, but I really wasn't having a good day. Oh well. Onwards and upwards. Out of interest, which winter tyres do you use?
  9. Yeah, was great to meet you. I hope the numpties stopped causing red flags after we left. As I said, Chavelin is now on my avoid list. Lovely motor BTW.
  10. I wonder if some shielding may help here
  11. Good rubber the ZZR. Will be on them at Snetterton tomorrow, albeit on the Caterham. Those AR-1s will be interesting when they are available. Being assymmetric, you'll be able to swap L <> R which you can't with the ZZR
  12. Yeah, we've only ever done ATDO member trackdays, apart from Lotus 7 Club trackdays in the Caterham. I guess my question is which car clubs organise trackdays for Lotuses? Does LoT qualify as a club? Who else does?
  13. In anticipation of getting the Exige, I've been ringing around for insurance quotes. ClassicLine are currently winning. On the phone they said that they covered unlimited "owners club trackdays" and up to 6 non-club days. Does anyone know which club or clubs are covered by this? Club Lotus, LoT, something else?
  14. Great news from Scott, my Sport 350 is painted. Apparently "Design" took a trip to see it in the factory. I've asked for pictures. Will post if/when I get some. I may need to wait until an extra coat of clear goes on. Getting there...
  15. DJI direct. No idea how soon it will ship, but I remember people saying they were pretty snappy on previous releases. After building quads and hexes myself since 2008, I did get a P2 non-Vision (but with gimbal for GoPro) a couple of years ago, but this will be my first App-driven quad. Looks absolutely awesome, so compact and convenient.
  16. Yup, ordered mine last week too. Wonder if I'll get it in time to film picking up the Exige... Shame Casey caused that storm in teacup over soft images, due to not realising he had to focus it. BTW, the CE version is nerfed slightly to 4km, down from the FCC 7km range. But that's still pretty awesome, and I'm not interested in breaking the law anyway, and operating beyond visual range.
  17. At least they were generous enough to show exactly the layout around the 1 minute mark. A custom exhaust specialist should be able to make that up for you, but I can't believe you'd pass noise tests anywhere in Europe with that. Cruising may also be wearing. Does sound magnificently fruity though!
  18. Don't rely on this info, but I would be surprised if it's much different to what the AiM gear collects from these ECUs, see here: http://www.aim-sportline.com/download/ecu/stock/lotus/Lotus_EvoraV6+ExigeV6_103_eng.pdf
  19. Lovely! Is that Ardent Red? Hard to tell in the processed shot. Still have a few weeks to wait for my red stunner. Enjoy
  20. To hopefully cap off this off topic bit about OEM mirrors that won't stay put, I believe the accepted wisdom is that if they do wander, then the fix is to open them up down to the ball joint and roughen that up with fairly coarse sandpaper. As Ryan's dealer found out, there's no "tension adjustment", it's just the friction of the ball joint surfaces that provides any adjustablity. Segueing back to topic, the Motoworks mirror has a properly adjustable friction ball joint. Nice!
  21. The Ultra 30 is compatible with ELM327 Bluetooth OBD dongles http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/virbultra30/EN-US/GUID-F8B00E48-E44D-4975-A3A4-D9BFE33099D7.html Remember the stabilisation in the VIRB and also the GoPro 5 is digital, i.e. crop and shift, not optical/mechanical. That's not a necessarily a bad thing. Optical systems tend to suck hard mounted to cars, as the vibrations tend to make the moving optical elements (lenses or image sensors) vibrate and even resonate! Both cams look very good for car use. It's nice to see that Garmin have upped their image quality. The Ultra 30 has the overlay goodness and the GoPro has the little one button remote and a much improved form factor now that it doesn't need the case. I'm tempted to get both
  22. As a guy waiting for a car in the same spec (esp. forged wheels) I reckon you just made my day. Looking forward to checking your observations any week now, once the Belgians mix me up some special paint. Before deciding to place my custom order, I spent a lot of time considering that particular car. Looks great in orange and black.
