  1. That's perhaps a bit premature, but failure of a rather expensive component of a brand new car is hardly any exciting news for any soon-to-be customer. No matter with Ti exhaust or without.
  2. I'd rather believe in the exhaust being faulty and overly restrictive, this can definitely lead to a less flow at the high revs (less power) with higher temperature, which will in turn reduce power even further. Then the product of pressure and rising temperature is a hole in the exhaust.
  3. In this way pretty much nothing will ever be "scientific". So far what makes me wonder is how RWD 1,200kg (with driver) 380bhp car can only do 0-100/100-200 with the times pretty much on par with full-time 4WD 1,550kg (with driver) ~350bhp car? All this really sounds odd. I am looking forward to get hold of my own Sport 350 (after perhaps correctly deciding to not go with anything more than 350) and see what the real numbers are, but so far all the pieces of information paint a picture that looks rather unusual.
  4. I'm curious if I've met this car in Castle Combe back in 2016. If yes, it was driven rather well and it was fast.
  5. My EvoIX (6spd, 4WD, 1600kg with driver and co-driver) has done 100+ launches (have to do that for time in the SS in rally) on a sticky 255 width tires - 100k miles now with the original gearbox and working fine so far. It is either that some gearboxes made of hoses hair and some clay, or the issue is massively overinflated.
  6. It may actually be even better and cheaper and more fun to rent an old airfield for a day and do proper measurement (0-60, 60-120, 50-120, etc.) day. Acceleration curve is extremely neutral thing to measure and knowing which gear the car is in and what is the car's weight provides a rather unambiguous read on the torque and, consequentially, power the engine makes (at the wheels, which is actually the one that matters and is relatively easy to translate into the flywheel power for 2WD car). I will be able and happy to join this most likely from early November on.
  7. I have Öhlins R&T on an EvoIX for the last 6 years and love them - this is rather good suspension and it does work well. Have no direct experience with Lotus though.
  8. That's the problem with making judgements - one can never be 100% certain, even if it looks awfully like full certainty. In no way I'm taking any side or defending any party in the topic you were expressing opinions on. Emotionally I rather very strongly agree with the above said.
  9. It's like following an advice of "when in danger, fall down and pretend to be dead"... If it is actually a safety matter, perhaps also parallel submission to the relevant regulatory authorities would spark some interest? I can't comment first hand on my side, as I am only going to collect the car on 01/09. It would be somewhat upsetting to discover that such a basic thing as a reliable mounting of the seat was not managed adequately over the last 3+ years.
  10. How reliable are the numbers in there? This is a little bit surprising - http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel6518-4078.htm
  11. Tailgate yes, alignment yes, gear change mechanism no - this is based on what I've read. I do not think it is cost effective, but naturally depends on how much value you attach to the exposed gear change mechanism that works better (based on what happy users say).
  12. I've pretty much always had about 70 miles from a 2.0T car with similar power on trackdays - it does burn a lot of fuel to drive it really actively. :-)
  13. In mobile view pictures in the posts are resized only horisontally, squashing them from the sides and distorting the original proportions. :-(

    Evora GT430

I like the car. The only unresolved matter in my head - did they hire a recent victim of the real estate slowdown from Foxtons to write that press release on the website? Sounds remarkably like "superbly presented garden flat offering an exceptional £2.5m pied a terre in central London"...
  15. Same here, moving between the pages within one topic does not really work. Works fine with reloading the page. Example: I'm on page 3 and want to move to page 4; I click on the 4; content disappears and does not load, address changes to ...=4; press F5, content reloads just fine.
  16. FFS it's not good, return it to as it was before, no need for changes PS actually what was the colour scheme before?
  17. Colours look like they could be improved
  18. Being serious, this is probably the very best engine I've seen in any of the boards I've been to.
  19. All the stuff above looks quite rubbish...
  20. If Exige owners are welcome, I'd be very much interested in joining. Always wanted to do a proper tour of the North. :-) If not, @The Pits should we arrange our own Las Vegas?
  21. Castrol SRF changed once a year is the way to never bother about brake fluid

    Gin

They want you to drink it with strawberries... Very controversial... Had it yesterday old school style with lime and fully agree with your assessment.
  23. This is really nice, I fully agree the car must be red. It looks like we're going to have pretty much identical cars, mine to be collected first days of September. Congratulations, hope you're going to like it!
