  1. I work at a main dealer, where we try to be more like your independent although sometimes you can’t win, but our service receptionists are pretty good. Reason for posting though if you’ve got a valid complaint leave a google review, give plenty of valid info. Two of the brands we’re involved with go nuts over them.
  2. Sorry, I wasn’t clear, I’m fully aware that there will be no convertible, Lotus themselves chose a sportier version rather than an open top. But I was told that we should know about the sportier version by now but I guess that’s after the i4
  3. I was told before end of the year for an announcement on something sportier when I had an Emira test drive at the beginning of the year. I’d have preferred a convertible/spyder version & was also told that Lotus were given the choice of the convertible or a sportier Emira by Geely
  4. No, it’s a friends old car, he swapped to an Emira
  5. An exclusive club but one that we have to join at some stage in life rather than through choice. Have a good vacation.
  6. Sorry to read this Bill, I’d been checking this thread for news, how are you doing now that you’ve joined the club?
  7. @bogle Tough times but 91 is a good innings, my Dad died in a hospice nearly 4 years ago, unlike my Mum he was still in there mentally & kept setting himself targets, Christmas, his 82nd birthday, new year etc. The nursing staff loved him for it, loosing him knocked me for six. The no parents club is all about good memories
  8. I’ve just posted in the happy thread, can’t bring Mum back but we found our cat this morning, he’d somehow got inside the roof of a stable block & couldn’t get down. He was far further away than we could’ve imagined.
  9. I posted in the unhappy thread a day or two ago about how our cat of the last 7 years had disappeared without trace on Wednesday morning & my mum had passed away (fully expected so no shock, but still very sad) on Thursday afternoon, so Christmas wasn’t looking to clever for us. Well I’m glad to report that after putting in some real leg work by knocking on doors, posting flyers & talking to people we learnt that the area our cat covers is even larger than than the large area we previously knew of. A country cat you see, he was found stuck up inside the roof of a modern stable block. It’s a good half a mile from here. Merry Christmas all
  10. Thank you for the comments, my mum had had a condition abbreviated to NPH, a Dementia/Alzheimer’s thing. She always knew who we were until she couldn’t really speak, but apart from odd moments no real communication for years, no emotion when Dad died 4 years ago & in a care home for her condition for the last 18 months of her life. So we knew she was going rather than your Brother in law walking in on his Mum.
  11. Our beloved cat of the last 7 years went out at approx 5am Wednesday morning & hasn’t been seen since, totally out of character as he’s never been gone for more than a few hours & always sleeps in the house at night 🙁 And then Mum died yesterday, this has been on the cards for a few weeks so not such a shock but I’m allowed time off for that so I’ve been searching for the cat but without success, we live in a country lane with very few houses & have knocked on every single door & walked round all the fields & hedgerows. It’s going to be a strange Christmas 😢
  12. Bearing in mind that that car is a repaired write off & there was a straight LF1 on Facebook yesterday for £44/45,000 it doesn’t seem cheap to me at all
  13. I think it’s a generation thing, younger customers quite happy to use them, the older customers reluctant and frosty if we can’t/won’t match
  14. Daft isn’t it? I sell Renault/Dacia. For those that don’t follow the Dacia brand, a new Sandero & it’s Stepway version were launched last April/May time. I’ve had a customer who bought an Essential SCe65 from me at launch for about £8500 new sell through Motorway for just under £10k a couple of months ago. He’s very happy & bought another higher spec Dacia from me just before it went up £1300, he’s going to run it for a year again & see what happens. This week I dealt with a customer who’d bought a Stepway Prestige auto with spare wheel for approx £15800 new at launch. That car new now is £18300ish & 6/7 months delivery, WBAC were suggesting to him it was worth over £16k! Customer didn’t want to deal with WBAC so he’s bought a secondhand car & had several thousand paid into his bank account. I’ve got a very nervous Head of business until I find a new home for my 16 month old Stepway Prestige auto 😁
