Current live vehicles in the UK would be shelved?
I should probably clarify this statement to avoid confusion - The production of the Emira and Evija would get shelved in the UK (Not the cars owned by you and me). The production of Eletre in China would continue as we wouldn't have any influence over that.
Future models 133 and 134.... Still at the pre-manufacture stage and probably owned by Geely.
I am only guessing at this and have no factual knowledge.
We are thinking about Lotus but Volvo and Polestar are probably in a similar situation.

It's a bit extreme, but who knows?

Assets owned by Geely would still be owned by Geely but might be put into holding?
Current live vehicles in the UK would be shelved?
The people and skills would move to other businesses?
The people and skills would start up a new business? Lotus v3.0?

Funny things seem to happen when the battery starts to fail and now is the right weather for a battery to start failing.

That is a very poor piece of marketing really. Of all the things the Emira is, someone has boiled it down to a full size glovebox, mislabelled twin USB ports and single zone climate control.
Are the USB ports mis-labelled?

Wouldn't want you to blow any sensitive electrics, but can you connect a good battery in another car with jump leads?
Is this a good idea or a bad idea?

My uncle had a Morris 8. When we used to holiday with them, he would fit 8 people in his Morris 8!!! The driver (my uncle) had his own seat, three adults on the back seat. The front passenger seat was removed and a wooden bench put in place aligned front to back and us four kids would sit straddled on it like a motorbike. Happy times.

Maybe I will be able to afford one of those in the future when I need to change my car, in the meantime I will continue to get cross at the rubbish drivers. Although, for me it will be a matter of luck as to what is going through the auctions or in my local market area (The Evora was something special and a very different purchase in some ways.).

Autonomous driving?
Most cars these days must surely have cruise control but drivers can't be arsed to use it when on motorways and other "steady driving" roads. It's really annoying to get the car at 70mph, switch on cruise control for a steady cruise, then the car in front starts slowing down then speeding up for no reason at all.

Just think how many they will build when the double shift kicks in! 🤣

Ahh... But will it sport or touring suspension?

@jimichangabetter get your order in for an Emira now if you are wanting one of the last ICE Lotus

I didn't know there was such a thing as electronic parking brake and when I bought my 2009 Volvo V70 from auction and got in it for the first time..... Wahhh! No handbrake! I drove it home with no handbrake before I had chance to read the manual. The Emira parking brake sounds very similar to the Volvo parking brake.
I had loan of a Mercedes with Hill start assist for a period. I hated it and turned it off in the menu system. A friend told me that it also wears out the brake pads, I don't know if that is true.

The pose, the positioning and the framing must be trying to tell a story but I can't work out what that is.

Don't they go from Hethel to BCA?

The early Evora's are at the lower end of the price range. Maybe it's those owners who are feeling the pinch most with current economic situation.
They are still great cars with beautiful lines and now they have become a modern classic, they are the most affordable. What's not to like?
