  1. Autonomous cars of the future - Woody Allen's Sleeper, the film also contains other futuristic devices. This may be quite accurate for our future. hahaha.
  2. They say that science fiction movies are a predictor of future actualities. Which future are we heading towards The Matrix "I remember that I am here not because of the path that lies before me but because of the path that lies behind me." The Terminator "I'll be back" Star wars "Feel the force Luke" Sorry for the drift.
  3. My Evora bongs at me sometimes in the garage and on the drive, but I haven't resorted to the wire cutters. @Slotus just how long is your driveway? Karen moment over now.
  4. The problem with no seatbelts is that it does affect us all. After an accident, no matter whose fault it is, the rescue teams suffer the trauma of recovering the bloody and mangled up victims. The hospital teams and resources are blocked and wasted by needless damage repair. family members will be heartbroken by the injuries suffered by loved ones. The cost of all the treatment and ongoing support will be paid for by the tax payer (you and me). Agree with you about the illegal motorbike youths who are probably riding about on nicked bikes.
  5. @drdoom Still plenty of speed traps around here, manned and un-manned. but point understood.
  6. No need to turn your phone off or leave it at home. You have the ability to disable this feature:- To turn your Location History on or off: On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app. Tap your profile picture or initial. Your Timeline. . Tap More. Settings and privacy. Tap Location History is off or Location History is on. Turn Location History on or off. I did have it turned off for a period when I thought I didn't want Google snooping on where I was going, but after a few years decided to turn it back on again when I decided it was a useful feature to remind me of some the places I had been visiting. Swings and roundabouts. Turning that feature off has no effect on people who are able to trace your location by tracing which comms masts your phone is connected to.
  7. @pete Is that real?
  8. 10mm !!!! that is a lot. The guys at Killamarsh said that they regularly replaced windscreens for Elise which gave me some confidence for them doing my Evora. I was happy with the job they did but thought it looked slightly different, I put this down to it just being a new screen, but on closer inspection to the parts list posted by @RichardC further up this thread I now realise that they had not replaced the upper seal A132U0266F. I have ordered this part from Deroure and will fit it myself.
  9. @RichardC, sorry mate, just checked my history file and the windscreen company that I used was National Windscreens at Holbrook industrial Estate at Killamarsh
  10. @RichardC I had my windscreen replaced by Autoglass last autumn, I must be one of the two you have mentioned. My insurance excess was only £115. It was done indoors, at a local Autoglass depot in Killamarsh, Sheffield. I was also apprehensive that they may not do the job properly so I gave them the contact details of the Lotus main dealer. I also advised them that the A-pillar trims were bolted in place, may be fragile and to treat them accordingly and that the trims were also fixed to the screen with a tape. I have fitted a dashcam, the power lead runs up the A-pillar and is tucked into the headlining so before I took the Evora in I re-routed the power lead out of harms way. They completed the job without any drama and I am happy with the result. I don't know how far away from Sheffield you live but if you decide to take it there at least you know they will have done one in the recent past.
  11. I've been interested in this thread and the whole situation as it has been developing. At some stage it will be affecting me along with everyone else. I know the government are going to ban the sale of new diesel and petrol ICE cars but I don't think they are forcing manufacturers to build BEVs. Or have I missed something? Some manufacturers are looking at hydrogen powered vehicles, I presume these will be legal. Maybe the buying public will have a say in how the future will play out.
  12. Love it, attention to details, It makes all the difference.
  13. Apologies if I touched on a raw nerve. I'm sure the last few that are remaining of the Limited Edition Certificate of Provenance will sell really quick, so get in there because once they are gone, they are gone. They do look fab and there aren't that many of them out there. edit - accidentally posted twice
  14. Honda are planning affordable EVs, but you will have to wait until the end of the decade for them and obviously it doesn't say what affordable actually means. Honda plans radical new entry level electric cars by 2030 | Autocar
  15. Are you allowed to say boys or girls anymore?
  16. Can you put a sticker in front of the camera, the camera sees nothing, no more bings and bongs and you don't have to go through switching it off every time you start the car.
  17. One persons instance of insurance renewal should not be viewed as a trend but I hope it is.
  18. Shocking figures. Are the punters in the UK the only ones being ripped off? What' it like in other countries?
  19. All of a sudden @C8RKH realises who is paying his wages. Only joking. 😉
  20. Enough space in that subframe for a V8. 😁
  21. Somebody pulled some strings for you at the factory?
