  1. Disappointingly I rang to confirm my on line appointment for the 1K service as the web page had disappeared last night. The deal has not gone through with Grange and they will not be taking on the Lotus brand after failing to come to an agreement. A buyer is still being chased and the steer is that Lotus still want a dealership in Scotland, so its not over yet. Desperate news for the staff but something may be rescued for them fingers crossed. If I get anymore updates I will let you know but clearly the situation is pretty complex and fluid Cheers Angus
  2. They seem to deal very much in second hand tools and maybe the outlet for the thieves. Wonder if they have a business account as the amount of gear they are selling warrants one. Ebay as well as the taxman might be interested in that. I wonder how they can explain how they have so much equipment for sale?
  3. I thought i would keep it simple for attachment to the central all tunnel. I checked to see if there were any cables close to the drill site's by photos with my phone and that side is clear. Cut out a hardwood section so it was a snug fit and inserted before drilling ( I wanted to minimise the impact on the car) drilled the 3 holes which I had marked from the box section (masking tape applied to the tunnel flat section) this ensured that all the holes aligned. Then pilot drilled the hardwood after removal from the car using the marks from the drill through ready for the fasteners which are just self tap screws. Access was easier from the passengers foot well for most of the work. 50mm 3mm thick box section from flea Bay was used
  4. Thanks ....... great news..... trying to get my 1K service booked 👍
  5. Getting back on thread here! @augiedriver This is the prototype ........... it fits and works great just have to make it look a bit more OEM and racey. Based on a 50mm aluminium 3mm box section, its a good transfer height for my foot. 3 small holes needed on centre original plate that's all. I have gone for a very simple fixing method with a hardwood plate fitted down inside the centre section (shown in picture1) larger holes on external face (which will be covered by non slip surface tape) the larger hole diameter allow the self tapping fasteners to be inserted through the box section to attach to the hardwood and sandwich the footrest down.
  6. I ordered an engine cover for the Elise and got good service from them. Whats the Bibs shop like??
  7. Spoke with Laura today as I was inquiring about when servicing of cars will resume. 'Kermit' needs his 1K check and set up. The deal does include Lotus The team are re-establishing links with Lotus with the new owner/management set up. That will cover warranty, servicing and supply of vehicles. It might be IRO a month before normal service resumes. The servicing arrangements (If you have paid up front or monthly) still applies as it wasn't connected with Leven and was externally outsourced to avoid this type of situation After a short chat with Laura, that's how I understand the situation. Clearly its been a roller coaster ride for the staff and I assume some future changes will be made with the set up. Cheers
  8. Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 dci Need it for pulling my boat ..... seriously 🤣 (the far background) You've had a few motors. I wouldn't dare mention some of mine not as nice as those....... When my children arrived I went all sensible and ....... cheap 🤔 .................. but I have recovered from that
  9. Grossglockner last year in September. I will post some pics on the foot rest when I progress its design . 50mm square alloy box section tube is about the right height for my short legs! 😅
  10. Definitely bolting. The 50mm box section sits on the OEM foot plate I have checked that I will not impact on the wiring harness that moves through the section. I will post some pics soon. Multi tasking at present whilst ceramic coating the 'Black pearl'
  11. In the past I have used soft silicone tubing (roughly the same dimensions as the cable)cut into short sections and split length ways so that it can be slipped over the cable at various points. The tube acts to grip the pillar an the the cable. Because silicone tube is soft and grippy it worked for me. If you need to you can glue the sections closed again but generally I didnt need to do this I found
  12. Same with mine pedal pressure and washing. I have had to go back to cycling to build my leg muscles up! 😅
  13. Hi I am working on a solution for this ! Strangely the material arrived today. I bought some square box section (aluminum) and intend to fit to the flat surface adjacent to the cable tunnel 50mm box section brings the surface just below clutch pedal height. Cheers
  14. Went on the Leven Lotus Web page and selected 'service' and was redirected automatically to a Macklin motors web page. I will try and call tomorrow.
  15. Fantastic news for the staff and us!. Leven Lotus Edinburgh liked a few of my instagram pictures todays so it appears they are back on Grid!😀
  16. Hopefully those staff who want to work on will get the chance to maintain the dealership/franchise!
  17. Any pictures? Iconic Lotus good luck with the work ahead!
  18. That sounds really positive. An ex colleague uses him also. The issue I have is warranty and maintaining it.
  19. Yes bad news for everyone concerned. I just bought my first Lotus from Leven in October and it was due its 1K soon. Feel sorry for the staff too. Fingers crossed a buyer is found. I too paid for a service plan but by installments.
  20. Part of the issue. We have a generation who have never been more connected in so many formats and so able to mobilise and to change the world for the better but ............
  21. Is funny it was on the run to Cortina D' Ampezzo that I saw a string of Elises' heading the opposite way ......... They looked like they were having more fun than us! and that was difficult ....... we were in some German machinery! 🤔😅....... Apologies if this offends But it planted a seed in my head that I should look at the Lotus brand again and consider a jump to something a little different! Some french Metal there too!
  22. Did a similar route with some friends in September last year (The Alps and Dolomite region at least) . Glorious roads. We had some un-seasonal snow and had to divert to get to Bolzano .
  23. Nice pragmatic approach to the issues . Hi and welcome ....... I'm new here too!
