  1. It’s a shame it’s an ambitious price, but when you see Escort’s and Capri’s going for stupid money why shouldn’t a well sorted Esprit be worth £50k. Even the Mk1 Lotus Cortina is ridiculous price wise, I had a Mk 2 and it was good fun to drive but isn’t a patch on an Esprit. Another example is the Excel, How can a Ford Capri be worth more.... it’s a crazy world Too many rose tinted spectacles being worn with a lot of these cars in my opinion
  2. Actually that’s not the reason, but hey, you mentioned it. I don’t rate Vettel either, I think manufacturer dominance has played a big part in both of their careers. No one could touch the Redbull when Vettel got three of his four championships, and Ferrari still couldn’t live with Mercedes even when they were allegedly outside the rules on the fuelling. I can’t see Vettel or Hamilton doing what Senna did in the Toleman (84 Monaco) or Clark, having to turn the ignition off on the straights due to oil pressure problems and still winning.... I just don’t see them being on the same level. Fair point on Schumacher.... but he was a bad sportsman on many occasions. After watching this years F1 so far, I notice that Racing Point (Basically the 2019 works Mercedes) is the second fastest team. .
  3. You are entitled to an opinion just as much as I am,. imo Hamilton doesn’t come close to Fangio, Clark or Senna
  4. Maybe this will fool her 7D108AF2-261E-49C9-AA56-2595D90EAE94.MP4
  5. Bollocks to the pair of them imo, I’m cheering Norris on!
  6. Top tip learnt from Spain...... keep the Gin in the fridge too
  7. Ramjet. Speak to Michael Young in Hong Kong👍
  8. Hey fellas, can’t argue that there are some real rough builders out there with very poor moral compasses, they are normally found in the local pub on a friday telling anyone that will listen how much money they have got. They also view clients as prey Good builders seldom have to look for new work and normally work for the same group of customers on a recurring basis. I learnt a long time ago to avoid the potential customer that “knew the price of everything and the value of nothing” A good rule of thumb is to research, research more and speak to previous clients, that have had out of the ordinary projects completed and are happy, also, it’s a sort of semi secret society, best way in is introduction from a friend or colleague. I might sound as mad as a hatter...... but that’s been my experience The real measure of value is having it done properly
  9. I noticed the BBC celebrating the fact that the first same sex kiss had been shown on Childrens BBC. It tells you a lot about how the people running the BBC think. I read the article on a BBC thread and was looking forward to viewing the comments section, I noticed that anyone who disagreed with what they had done had their comment removed. I long since cancelled my TV licence, and for anyone thinking of doing the same the following website offers accurate advice about the law relating to the TV licence. tvlicenceresistance.info. The fact that we can have men kissing on Coronation Street at 7:30 pm and women kissing on childrens tv but can’t see a Big Mac or KFC advert till after 9:00pm truly saddens me.
  10. I’m a bit late on adding to the 520/wolfrace chat, my 520 (owned 33years) had some obscure alloy wheels fitted which I was none to keen on, luckily the local salvage yard had a burnt out Elite and I fitted the wheels from that, can’t for the life of me remember wether I changed the hubs ... probably did
  11. Yep, Chinese virus, if it didn’t leak out the lab, it came from the market (Wuhan) where they have live, dead and dying mixed species being stored together until they are too rotten to sell..... but call it Covid 19 if it helps you sleep at night!
  12. Evening All my dehumidifier is turning up next week, so the latest thing to worry about is the % humidity to set it at. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations through experience cheers
  13. Great news, lets hope it had a trouble free crossing, you must be getting excited🍻
  14. I wire all my appliances in bellwire....... saves having the heating on
  15. They were rough...... but bloody cheap!!!!!
  16. Have you got the missing parts with it?
  17. Agreed Barry, but reading back through the thread tonight, it seemed that getting the remnants of the old alarm system removed was a bridge too far at one point. Running and maintaining a classic model is a real commitment, and you have to accept that it is nearly always at a loss over the long term. Of course there is nothing wrong with that and I know of no other car that is as thrilling to own, but we have to accept that unless you can throw enough money at it to get in front maintenance wise the car is always going to give you trouble As you say Stimpy needs to have a good think..... there is also the option of leaving it in the garage (His own) till the waters are a little less murky.
  18. Sorry to hear about your job fella I just read through the whole thread..... owning this dog (they made the odd one or two) hasn’t been good for you mentally or financially it’s a definite sell imo ps I’ve made mistakes too.... the thing is to recognise a lost cause, ie moneypit good luck whatever you decide
  19. From memory (33years ago) it twisted have you tried a dedicated earth (Temporary)from the battery to dashboard?
  20. I had a quick look, I don’t profess to be an auto electrician butI think you are right with the two items you mention, basically most auxiliary items are fed from terminal two, so the voltage stabiliser could well be the problem, the horn circuit looks to be the easiest to get going for a starting point. if your heater is blowing, the wiper motor should run too, fuse permitting, if it doesn’t it’s pointing to the stabiliser Then it’s on to the regulator I hope this helps a little, everyone’s interpretation of wiring diagrams is different 😂 Good luck
  21. Sorry if I am stating the obvious but have you got 12V out of all fuse ways, also you could run a temporary earth to the electrical “area” that you are working on. If I can find a wiring diagram I will have a look tonight, maybe able to point you in the right direction cheers
  22. Kimbers, none of my business, but personally I would prefer an under used Evora in the garage than an under used holiday home 2000 miles away😂..... hopefully your good lady will go off the idea soon and the “toy” money can remain in the UK👍
  23. Certainly good news, 12,000 m3 is also a good size, so looks like things are being put in place, also makes sense to be local to Hethel. I wonder if they have bought or leased it and wether expansion is possible on this site.... this time next year Rodders
