My S2 is staying in sunny scotland with me for ever Once my other house is built in the philippines I might import a newer Esprit over there so I can have one in each country

Went to work on my S2 yesterday and when i opened the garage door i was welcomed by this! Junk thrown all over the back and down the side of the car. The plan was to remove the rear 1/4 windows & trim and the tailgate but i changed the plan and just removed the paint from the roof. It took me 35 minutes to do the whole roof and the roof section on the tailgate so the por strip is working well with no mess Got some containers and put all the doorparts and trim into the attic for storage while im prepairing the body. I just got the complete wiring loom(harness) from SJ Sportscars last week so that will get fitted when all the paints removed and windows are out. Slow but im getting there. Miles done since bought in 2002 = 139 cant wait till next year to go for a blast I Hope?

Nice looking S2 My S2 used to be silver before it was changed to red in the 80's .

I thought about that but i prefer the extra cylinders and i already have a complete car with a ford 2.5ltr V6 Duratec which has less than five thousand miles on it Just need to find a nice gearbox for it. Anyway as for the paint stripping ive finished the drivers door ,rear bumper and tail light surrounds. I had to repair the left hand light surround as it fell off the workbench and broke into 3 parts

I finaly took the plunge and started removing the paint on my S2. Im using the POR15 POR Strip from frosts and its working realy well. Had to lumiweld the door frames also as they had both cracked on the back inside the door. Hope to get most of the car done before i go away overseas again. Will try to get some photos up soon. Also might be getting another G car which is in a poor state from one of my friends which is missing the engine and gearbox. And as there seems to be a bit of engine swapping going on in here at the moment i might fit a 2.5 V6 Duratec which i already have and fit a couple of turbos on it. I need the cc to be low as i will be sending it to my other home in the philippines which restricts imports to 2.8ltr. Can anyone advise me on what might be a good gearbox to fit to the duratec V6 ? I had this problem and posted it a while back. Check the exhaust manifold is tightened properly and the gaskets are ok. 3 of the nuts were loose on my S2 manifold which caused it to backfire when turning the engine off.

Nice one steven, where did you get this done? Are the parts available or did you get it made for you.

My 1979 S2 is red but was originaly silver so i cant get the paint code from the id plate. Does anyone know the red code ? it has a slight orange look to it. Its an original color as ive seen other S2 with it. Thanks

Sounds like a good idea to me chaps Im about to replace all the wiring in my S2 and while im there i might start preparing the bodywork for a respray.

Hello All , Im looking into fitting an A/C unit to my S2. Does anyone know if Left & Right hand drive cars have the same A/C Parts or are some parts different ? Thanks

OH BO***X Ive just been given another contract overseas after enjoying the last 5 weeks off playing with my S2. Took it for a last spin yesterday,and for the first time i gave it some real action before taking it to my brother in laws mothers garage. It must have realised i was going away again as the volt guage started to read low just into the red but fortunately i know what the problem is. Its the wire at the alternator plug. So im going to be a bit quiet for a while as i will be on the ferry from Pooh Pah Jock McPlopland (Scotland) going to Zeebrugge tommorow night and onto Germany to play with some toy tanks. Guess thet means im going to miss the factory visit Oh well at least when i come back i will have enough for a new chassis and wiring loom ,Need to hide that from the wife . Thought it might be face fit sealer but just wanted to be safe rather than rip it off to find a torn gasket in there. Ive got lots of face fit from SJ in my garage so i will get on and sort it out. I know what you mean about the bolts coming loose ive tightened mine several times which wont help the old sealer. Thanks guys.

Ive got an oil drip on the gearbox end plate (at the rear where the exhaust mount is fitted),I thought it was the drain plug washer but its never that easy is it Does anyone know what kind of gasket is in there ? (paper,cork liquid gasket etc etc) I dont want to remove it till i know what i need. Thanks
