  1. I'm retrofitting my '85 to SJS's upper wishbone kit with adjustable camber(this car is getting wider 17" wheels). The welded boss at the camber adjustment on the rear wishbone is 3mm thicker than the front wishbone. Thus a 3mm shim plate at front of the ball joint brings the wishbones into parallel. I assume that this 3mm difference accounts for the MY93+ Service Notes calling for 9mm of shim washers and 12mm of shim plates... Not sure if there were changes to the front chassis mounting points after '85, but I suppose the best approach to setting this up in an older car is to follow the '93+ Service Notes procedure-- provided that once the correct caster has been obtained, the two wishbones are parallel and there is at least 5mm of clearance between the top wishbone and the chassis. Does this sound about right?
  2. I just received a replacement candidate designed for a Peterbilt truck. It's Northern Radiator PN 9241413, a parallel flow design with a 29 3/4" x 8 1/2" x 3/4" core. The 3/4" thickness is a bit flimsy, but I'll give it a try. Weighing only 3 lbs., Colin would approve...
  3. I spoke with manufacturer and ordered it. They confirm that it can handle the pressure of HFC-134a. The mounting ear brackets are riveted in and may be replaced or extended as needed.
  4. I'm working on a R-12 to 134a conversion to my '85 G-car, including a Sanden compressor, Classic Auto Air Cooler IV evaporator box, and condenser TBD. This is closest I can find to a replacement in a parallel flow design. The pictured bracketry might even bolt right up. 29.75 x 8 x 1"
  5. I'm in process of fitting Nitron shocks to an '85 Esprit. The Nitron kit did not include rubber pillow bushes to fit to the piston rod on either side of the perch-- just a pair of washers. Should I make a fixed metal-on-metal clamping mount at the perch, or add the Lotus rubber pillow bushes used on the OEM shocks? Nitron has not replied to my query on this point.
