  1. Thanks, I've found loads of info on Lotus Talk and even how to tighten up the window rails and locks to put more pressure on the window seals. Lot of people have added sound deadening and as the Evora is already a heavy car weight isn't an issue to me. Any car can benefit from some improvements. I've got a more modern car play ICE unit but want to hear it a bit more clearly when cruising.
  2. Others have spent time fitting sound proofing so I just wondered if anyone on here had done it hence the questions.
  3. My tyres are ok at front but plan to replace rears soon. I may add some foil butyl sound deadening at some point. Window seal does need adjusting but not sure how as yet.
  4. I find my car quiet noisy at motorway speeds but it’s not engine or exhaust noise? Seems like road / tyre noise and wind noise mainly so the stereo has to be turned up to hear it better. I had the carpets out to clean and noticed there isn’t much in the way of sound proofing on the floor. Odd sewn together carpet sandwiches in the footwell and a stuck on anti drumming pad but none are a good tight fit. Has anyone done much sound deadening to the interior and has it made much difference? Can the side windows be angle adjusted at all as I think my drivers side glass is noisy because it’s not shutting tight enough to the seal? I don’t have a noisy exhaust to listen to!
  5. Has anyone got an old original 2009/10 quiet exhaust they would donate to science and I'll cut it up and post the results? Bypassing some of the internals is probably all it needs to get a good sounding system. I cant justify the £1000 - £5000 price tag for a aftermarket systems.
  6. Any pictures of the inside? That's what I was thinking of doing as I can't justify new exhaust prices. Did the metal weld up again ok? Stainless wire?
  7. Mines an early car but what do you mean about off the shelf type. My sensors are working ok but I need 2 tyres soon. I thought I'd need to replace them while the tyres are off. One looks corroded. I was hoping to buy some then program them myself if I need to.
  8. Thanks for the info and useful to know about the airbag resetting. Not got much of a clue what to do with the tpms as I only want to replace 2 tyres so it sounds like I shouldn’t touch or replace 2 sensors.
  9. I’m the owner of an 2009 Evora along with other vehicles and I maintain my cars and motorcycles myself. I’m thinking of buying a new diagnostic tool for all my cars but wondering if one particular brand was better for the Evora fault finding. Do any work on Lotuses? Ideally I want one to cover Lotus, Merc and Seat/Vw too. I’m not looking at professional high budget machines so up to around £200 and I need it to also diagnose the Lotus Tyre Pressure Monitoring System for tyre changes and adding programming new sensors. Thanks
  10. Mines a 2009 Evora and the pipe is for a later model maybe 2010 or 11 onwards.
  11. At some point I want to remove the springs and shocks to get the coils blasted & powder coated but for now just a touch up.
  12. Brakes and suspension restoration now ongoing. Calipers were black and a little boring especially with black wheels. Hubs and discs will be similar to body colour and calipers red eventually. The paint is slow going and on third coat but it's not drying very well as it's cold in my garage. I've wire brushed the rusty uprights and painting them black for protection. I hate to see rusty bits through wheels. Wheel nuts and brake bolts all scotch brighted to clean metal and painted black. Other side still to start but safer left until later as on my home made ramps.
  13. Rear difuser modified with extra fins and repainted. New stainless bolts and new brackets to replace rusty one . Grills were all seized solid so bought some expensive stainless captive fasteners. Painted the grills similar to body colour before fitting to under tray with socket heads. Won't know if it works until out in daylight but at least it's tidy now. Exhaust polished too!
  14. Has anyone got the wrong cat delete pipe like me. Mine is a 2009 car and the flange bolt holes are roughly 20 to two on a clock but the pipe I have is for a later car with the flange holes set at a quarter to three so horizontal. If you have an early pipe but need a later one I’d be happy to swap parts. Thanks
