  1. Barrie, Presuming you mean Essex Photo's ? if so lets have an old one from Donnington.
  2. Essex 015 - Have a look on page 30 of Essex Random Images and pick up the threads from there.
  3. Work this one out, have a look at the DVLA Vehicle check 😎
  4. That makes it Hugo Schneider's Essex LHD 008 renumbered 039.
  5. Lotus in the Peaks Chatsworth House Sunday 10th July.
  6. Hi Barrie, there must have been 2 in the skip the one I sold was just the outer board.
  7. No. 11 was Mario Andretti - looks exactly like the one I sold on Ebay years ago - bought from Team Lotus personnel - rescued from a skip at Ketteringham Hall.
  8. The owner of LHD Essex 008 Chassis No. 10308 changed it to 039. Lotus records still recognise it as LHD 008.
  9. The Jim Loose "Essex" chassis no. 10307LHD is not part of the numbered Essex sequence and not recognised by Lotus as a genuine numbered Essex. The present owner purchased the car from Stocksports Cars in the UK.
  10. If you get in to trouble with it have it serviced at Agenta Audio Classic Car Radio they’ll sort it out.
  11. Hi Neil, Bring back Donny, if I turned up dressed as David Thieme wearing an Essex jacket Tocus would be there following me.
  12. Needs an Essex Umbrella to go with it.
  13. If there's any Essex owners reading this have look in your Essex history file please, want to know the Essex no. in the photo. The reg no. DSK 778 is now on a BSA motorbike isn't an original Essex reg. no. Steve T
  14. Hi Neil, Hew Dundas, Bell & Colvill, Vansten and an accident involving an Essex on the Ridgeway (B552), 020 at Lotus Bits being confused with the Hew Dundas Essex & DVLA data protection won't release any history for HRD 7, feel free to have a go at piecing all that lot together !!!!
  15. Bauke, Was it Peter Delfgaauw who owned the Essex ? Peter Delfgaauw was asked by Maartens family to take over running the business, is he still involved with Vansten ? Can you ask Peter/friend if it's not Peter how the Essex finished up in bits, or was it in bits when he bought it ? Presuming we are talking about a complete r/h drive Essex ? All the numbered R/H production Essex's are accounted for, 003 to 024(100) with the exception of 015 & 019. Steve T

  17. 020 first went to Douglas Valley and finished up at Lotus Bits, someone was trying very hard to resurrect it at the time. The VanSten connection needs investigation, was it another Essex, for example 015 ? Vansten must have a connection to the Vansten I knew many years ago, he was very ill with cancer at the time, use to come over to Donnington & Stonely every year, have I got the right Vansten ? Roo, Thanks for that a job for tomorrow.
  18. Barrie, Think I have a name for Neutral 3. 😎 Never thought about having an Essex website, needs a bit of thinking about that, would you be up for volunteering as administrator ?
  19. Hi Neil, I had another look at the history of 008 out of interest after seeing this subject resurface on Facebook and nearly all of the photo's and information I had on file has been posted under Essex Random Images here on the Forums. What we need is a new topic for "Essex Random Images" for everyone to focus on and I've one in mind. This is more for the "senior" members on the Forums who can remember 1982 - so here we go. Back in 1982 around May time Essex 015 HRD 7 was traded in at Bell & Colvil and since then in 38 years has never resurfaced so where is it ? No records are held by B & C regarding the new registration number it assumed once HRD 7 had been removed, it would have been a W reg. as 015 was first registered with HRD 7 from new in 1980. Without the new reg. no. issued by DVLA to replace HRD 7 (data protection rules), it's not possible to do a vehicle check. Here's some idea's, an Essex was involved in a accident on the B169, "The Ridgeway" Chingford sometime after being traded in at B &C, was this 015 ? If it was then it was very badly damaged on the drivers side, it hit a tree, the driver/owner survived but is no longer around. As this was an expensive car back in the day you would have thought it would have been rebuilt it but I rather think if it had it would have resurfaced by now. Alternatively lets presume it was never written off or recorded by DVLA, so even if we knew what the new reg. was it might be a dead end. If it was a write off you would assume that an insurance company would have been involved and in turn DVLA, was it insured ? So here's another alternative, someone bought the salvage and has retained 015's registration documents and salvage ? Now apparently the key to this might belong with someone who's been on "holiday" for awhile. I don't know any names or when he's back off "holiday" so that's another dead end. So what information is out there if any, hopefully there's some answers or someone who knows something ? So it's here for everyone to speculate over, was it 015 that hit the tree or is was it another Essex ? I don't know of any Essex extensively repaired apart form 008. So in conclusion where is Essex 015 ?
  20. Go back to my original thread November 2014. Steve T
  21. Doesn't take much time to guess where these were taken. Steve T
