My v8 improved no end when I reset the ecu with Peter's OBD2 software

I checked back, it was lotus ribble valley back in November 2003. It was near the junction of Peter St and Quay St and Deansgate. Behind Teasers. I had moved to Torquay by then so never visited it.

Chris Neils had a shop in the same area of Manchester perhaps 10 years or more ago.

Whilst I have got my engine out to do some other work I have noticed that the compressor casing has broken around the snap ring on one of the turbos. I am looking for a compressor casing to replace mine, the bearing and turbines are fine. Alternatively I will be looking for a new or recon turbo. Can anyone help. Thanks Tony

Hi Neil My speedo was doing the same, I brought the cluster in the house while I looked at the heater plumbing. All worked when I finally put it back. Tony

Hi Scott I get confused with the difference between the S1 and S2. I was in the X5. May be back in my V8 next week if I can get a small oil leak sorted after an engine rebuild. I will keep my eye out for you. Tony

Hi Robert I am trying to get there Saturday. The car is running but had an oil leak from the oil cooler conections. My son has been looking at it today and hopefully tightened them up. I will be home on Friday to take it for a shake down run, and a clean. What time were you thinking of leaving on Saturday. Tony

When I was in Chris Neils on Thursday I was told they are having an open day on Sunday, 28th March. Mainly to show off the new Elise. If my car is back on the road I may wander down. Open Day Tony

No pulleys were undone, the crank and cam shafts were pegged and the belts changed.

Hi Andy When I got the engine out, the bolt in the end of the idler shaft holding the cam pulleys had come undone don't understand why yet. Also a large lump of casting had come off the LH cylinder head, the mounting for the tensioner, and where the lifting eye is attached the engine removal. The car is/was used daily, I live in Stockport and work in Crawley, gets two good runs a week (240 miles). Its now got 97K miles on it, bought it with 34K in September 2007. It gets regular oil changes etc. and is surprisingly quite reliable. Changed the cam belts back in October after a cam belt idler bearing disintigrated. Done perhaps 5K since. I know for certain this bolt was not touched then. Tony

Hi Robert As no one else has responded I will add my two penny worth. With not having much time at home at weekends and too much to do, I would prefer to get together sometime between Christmas and New Year. Propose a time, date and location and I am sure I will be there. Tony
