  11. I think i might buy myself a lottery ticket. I'm still gutted though as the car has been running really well before this. A stupid problem which could of cost me thousands and wasn't even my fault.
  12. That is mental.....I don't recognise the screwdriver but will be asking my last mechanic. I'm just glad it didn't wreck the engine. Im one lucky boy. Thanks for everyones help and especially Sparky who has done a great job....
  13. I must look up addresses and see what distance it is.....
  14. I had the engine out about a year ago and did the water pump etc. Ive just moved to Lincoln so don't really know of any good mechanics. The mechanic that i found specialises more in Porsche's but said it would cost around £600 then fix whatever happened to the belt......bolt, pulley....who knows. The car is at my house if anyone knows someone good to fix it......Any help would be appreciated. thanks
  15. I had taken photographs at the weekend to sell my Lotus S4. The MOT runs out at the end of August so I thought i would put on a new year for whoever buys the car. Driving to the garage i heard a rattle and thought ohhh dear. On looking in the engine bay i couldn't see any real problem so i only had a half a mile to the garage and drove on. When reaching the garage the mechanic had a look and said i was really lucky as something has broken off like a bolt and started tearing into the middle of the cam belt. Luckily although something is wrong, it could of been alot worse. Anyway, I now have to drop the engine, do all belts, tensioners etc. Disaster!!!!! So much for selling it this week. Oh well someone will have a good car!
  16. Hi, i have just moved to the Lincoln area and am looking for a good mechanic who isn't too expensive and knows there way around an esprit. Can anyone recommend someone. thanks. Need engine out with all belts done etc. thanks
  17. This is hard with the tyres on. I just worked it with the size of tyre.....245 Its hard to get an accurate reading of the width of the actual rim. All sorted now. Thanks for everyones help. Worked out they are 8" in Fronts and 9.5" backs. 40 offset on backs and 30 on fronts.
  18. Offset 37.5 i think 245 width divide by 2 = 122.5 From flat surface of hub to outside edge = 160 160 - 122.5 =37.5 So offset is 37.5. Question? How do you write this? Ive seen offset like 7.5J
  19. Hi can anyone help? I am selling a set of oz futura's on ebay but they are different sizes than the originals. 245/45/17 215/40/17 People have been asking for the Offset and PCD but i am unable to find these on the alloys. Question. Is the Offset and PCD the size between the holes to fit the car? If i got the dimensions from standard alloys is this going to be the same for mine? Thanks
