  1. Hey, I am selling my GAZ Shock and H&R spring setup and have had some interest in it but I was curious about something since I have gotten numerous inquiries about it... Here is what I currently have: Fronts - 200mm (8 inch) length, 60mm ID, 286lbs Rears - 250mm (10 inch) length, 60mm ID, 229lbs PUKesprit lists their GAZ shocks as being available for all Esprits, but they have the choice of "Type K" springs for cars without wheelarch extensions like the SE, S4 etc, and "Type L" for cars with wheelarch extensions like the Sport 300 and V8. I asked Marcus at PUK about this and he said it all had to do with longer springs for the cars with wheelarch extensions and larger wheels, and that my springs would work on a V8, but it "may sit a bit low". I need to know if the springs I am offering with my kit will work on V8 Esprits and how "low sitting" we are talking. The shocks are adjustable for ride height so couldnt you just crank the ride height setting up if the springs lower it too much? Thanks in advance! Jamie
  2. that image originally came from a japanese model making website that I found and i then put it on my site with a "wanted" line beside it and also started a thread about it on here as well
  3. Looks good!!!!!!!! and the front and rear bumpers ;) you could use the side skirts from the monogram sport 300 for the correct SE sides: the rear bumper/lower valence is SE correct as well: the front lower valence has the sport 300 fender flares moulded into it but if you could dremel these down you would have the correct fromt as well:
  4. I always thought these just had a simple spoiler you could include to make it more close to the.... does it have different side sills and a different front and rear bumper that match the SE? can you take any pics of the SE parts?
  5. That is pretty vague You also emailed me about this. Can you provide more details at all? possibly some pictures or get me in contact with the gentleman who now owns it? Thanks! Jamie
  6. applied with a sponge brush like these: it goes on pretty thick and does not run... i think i only put one base coat on there and then when it dried just touched up the areas that light still got through... so like a very light touch-up second layer
  7. 3M makes a single step black primer that worked perfect on mine when I did the re-do... check this old thread out for details and pics, its somewhat of a hard job but pretty fun now that i look back on it: http://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/index.php/topic/19824-quarter-windows-out/page__p__200253 just remember to clean the window where you will be applying the black band VERY good otherwise the black will start to come up like it did on mine. thankfully the windows were still out of my car when i noticed it coming up. re-did it with some industrial strength window cleaner prep first and they are still fine three years later
  8. gonna bump this old topic because there arent any newer ones... but in the 4 years has anyone been able to fit any newer flip up displays in stevens (binnacle overhang) cars with success? I want a flip up unit that I can hook a Mac Mini up to, run parallels on it so it will load windows and then have freescan connected up to it as well....
  9. As some of you may know, I am a huge collector of anything and everything realted to the 90s Esprit SE since it is the car I personally own. I have what I believe to be the largest collection of SE related literature, brochures, dealer packets, press photos, postcards, posters etc... besides probably the factory itself. See Here for my entire collection. There are a few items I have seen in various places however, and I am looking to add them to the collection in order to get closer to my goal of having everything out there. I have pictured the items I do not have below in hopes that some other overly-obsessed collector like myself might be on these boards and have a spare of something to part with. A $10 finders reward will be paid to anyone who can help me locate anything from this list. (click for larger photos) Advertisements: Dealer Brochures: Press Photos: Posters: Also looking for the 1/43 scale Alezan Esprit SE resin model kit: Thanks in advance! Jamie
  10. Getting a set of custom built wheel adapters made up... the dude wants to know the following: "Does your Lotus have studs coming out at 12mm1.5? Im pretty sure, but can you please verify" Thanks, Jamie
  11. so what eventually happened with these? did i miss a different thread or anything?
  12. gonna bump this back up to the top in case anyone new can help me out... Im out of options.
  13. i only collect esprit SE related literature but i probably have the largest collection of it out there check http://www.shadeone.com/museum.html
  14. article/preview mentions a "behind the scenes look" at pretty woman yet all i see in the preview pictures is a 2 pages spread of stills from the movie... is there actually any behind the scenes info or pictures regarding the silver esprit from the movie, or are movie stills considered "behind the scenes"?
  15. Ok, need your guys help. I am finally preparing to get some new wheels for my car this coming spring/summer (I know ive been saying this for years) but I need some help with the proper adapter and tire sizing... Have a seat, this is some long reading and lots of calculations. The wheels I'm getting are not available in the 5x108 bolt pattern and I will be getting custom adapters to get them to fit. The adapters are going to be made through wheeladapter.com and are hubcentric and all that. There have been a couple other Esprit owners who have had this done with excellent results. Anyways, the wheels I'm going with are only available in 18x9 for the rear and 18x8 for the front. I dont want to do 17inch fronts as this looks too small in my opinion. I want to get the offset correct so that the wheels would sit where they would be if they were V8 Esprit wheels. I also want to get the proper tire sizes so that they retain the same overall diameter of the V8 ones because they are the perfect diameter to fill the wheel arches. 1. As far as offsets go for the wheels, the 18x8 wheel I will be putting on the front has an offset of 40mm. The stock V8 wheel has an offset of 19... Considering I will be losing .5 of an inch by going with an 8 inch wide wheel versus the stock 8.5 inch wide, do I make the adapter an additional 12mm wider to accomodate for this? Am I correct in assuming that the adapter has to be about 33mm wide each then? (12mm to make up for the lost half inch and then 21mm to push them out to V8 distance) 2. For the back wheels, same as above, but this time I'm losing a whole inch by going with 18x9 instead of 18x10, does this mean I need to make the adapter a whole 25mm wider to make up for this right? The offsets of the new custom rear wheels are 45 versus the stock V8 size of 17. To get them to the right place am I correct in assuming that the adapters will have to be somwhere like 53mm wide each? (25mm to make up for lost inch and then 28mm to push them to V8 distance) I should mention that the wheels im getting are avaialable in differnet bolt patterns like 5x114.3 that do come in smaller offsets if the adapters mentioned in the above calculations seem too wide. I just want to make sure I'm doing my math correctly and am not missing anything here... I also know that the adapters have to be at least 25mm thick so that is why I chose some of the higher offsets to make up for some of the room and amke sure the adapters would be above 25mm. As far as tire sizing goes, I want the whole overall diameter of the tires to be the same as the stock V8 Esprit wheels. 3. For the front tires, since I'm going with 18s instead of 17s, I will definitely need thinner profile tires. The stock front tires for the V8 are 235/40/17. Would I have to go with a 235/35/18 to make up for the added inch of the wheel? This doesnt seem like a common tire size... Some other forum I found mentioned that 225/40/18 would be a good alternative for the 235/35/18 and probably have a ton more tires avaialbe in that size... The only difference would be an additional 17mm of overall diameter... 225/35/18 would be 5mm less in diamater versus the V8 tires... 4. For the rears, the only change versus the stock 285/35/18 is the loss of an inch of width of the wheel... How does this effect the tire? Being that they are skinnier wheels by an inch, doesnt that make the tire slightly taller? I want the tire faces to be flush with the wheel lip and not have any "overhang". What would be a good tire size for this? Is 275/35/18 a common size? Thank you in advance for help in straightening all of this out! Jamie
  16. you failed to provide inspiration by posting a pic of YOUR own car!
  17. Finally! After consistently pestering every model maker I could for the past few years, one company has finally come forward and claimed to be producing a die cast model of the Lotus Esprit SE! Premium X Models sent me the following message: Hello Thank you for your email and for your nice ideas. In fact we were planning to make the Esprit turbo SE. Probably will be available first half of 2011. With best regards PREMIUM-X Models for those who dont know, they are currently making both an elan m100 with the top down and one with the top up... you can see the prototypes on their 2010 catalog here: http://premiumx-models.com/images/stories/premiumx-catalogue-web.pdf please take the time to email them and thank them if you plan on buying one. they are one of the only companies that responded with more than just a simple "we will send it to our design department for future consideration" generic emails...
  18. Im getting rid of my X180r literature on ebay because I want to focus my ocllection specifically on the SE production road car, the car that I have. Check out auction # 270660707226 for pictures and descriptions of everything! Thanks and good luck if you bid! Jamie
  19. hey thanks! Yeah, ill try contacting the archives people tomorrow! Im guessing since this was a sunday magazine, that it came out every week? ebay is where i get the majority of my stuff from... check out my collection (just a tad more then 5 ) http://www.shadeone.com/museum.html
  20. soooo..... what are you doing with the old revolution wheels??
  21. Was browsing around an elan forum and came across some ads for the elan m100 that evidently ran in a magazine/newspaper in the UK called "The Times" or "Sunday Times Magazine": they follow the format of the green banner at the top with a witty line, a picture beneath, and then some text about the car below... I am currently looking for one similar to this that was done for the high wing esprit meaning it would have been in a 1992 edition of this magazine/newspaper.... Im in the US so i dont have access to old issues of this so i was wondering if anyone might have one or else know where to get an issue that would have this ad in it: Thanks!
