  1. Arse! - I would have taken that as a compliment from her last night in comparison to the other adjectives. Good job I’ve gone away for the weekend I think. May just check in on her in a minute though 🤣🤣🤣
  2. It amazing/amusing to see how a camera debate escalates. (Even inside the home) Like a lot of people I’ve had one of these ‘ring’ doorbells for a couple of years. One of the daughters just gave me another for Xmas after I hinted I wanted another to stick in the living room to keep an eye on the dog if I needed to. I set it up last night to then hear my wife ‘go off’ on one! - “I dont want you spying on me” “I don’t want you hearing any private conversations I might need to have” blah blah blah. - FFS after nearly 30 years of being married I’m not really interested to hear what she has to say most of the time when I’m in the room with her, let alone when I’m out of it! 🤣 (Probably shouldn’t have actually said that though) If its in two pieces tomorrow though I’ll know @exeterjeep will have been round with an angel grinder!
  3. My other thought is if each and every camera costs £50k upwards and more in ongoing costs, as a tax payer I’d rather pay that amount in the form of a salary to have another officer out patrolling and using his own eyes instead of the camera. But a Police officer obviously won’t raise thousands of £’s The cameras are self funding in the form of revenue raised. Each camera will pay for itself 10 fold per annum. All the amounts raised are also readily available online shown in its Millions.
  4. Good afternoon Sir. Could you please account for your whereabouts between the hours of 2am and 4am? 😜
  5. I’m really in two minds for this one. We all know the old arguments of Council money raising versus accident black spot/safety. Two more of these were cut down last night in Cornwall. For anyone who has any history of having to compulsory donate to a Charity not of their choosing will be smiling away thinking justice/karma is served - especially by the perpetrators and angle grinder owners. On the other hand these are really expensive items of hardware nowadays. The average cost to erect a static camera is around £50k plus maintenance. (Some more) There are 22 different types of speed cameras being operated around the U.K. nowadays and rarely can you make a journey or turn a corner without being aware of them. Someone has to pay for them…. Just says longer term more cameras and even more fines to me. Wonder if it will get to the point where they have to employ cameras to monitor the cameras. 🧐
  6. I will be the first to admit I certainly don’t mind a good quality fake or copy. After all even if I see someone warring an expensive watch my first thought is usually nice fake/nice copy - might be/might not be. Also as mentioned above the thought of being robbed of something worth thousands isn’t appealing so I’ll continue waring something that just a couple of hundred quid purchased. I’ve had a few nice watches over the years. To me a nice watch is something that is aesthetically pleasing, robust and does the job it should do of keeping good time. I never spent anything ridiculous on a watch and every watch I’ve ever purchased has always been in the three figures bracket. I don’t think I could bring myself to buy in the four or even more ridiculous five or even six figure bracket even if Camelot had payed me out. My daily for the last 18 months is a very heavy but well built Tzar Bomb - It’s definitely a Richard Mille wannabe. Note the ridiculous price on the ex Felipe Massa original - laughable but some idiot with more money than sense will buy it. Saying that absolutely no idea if this calibre of wrist jewellery appreciates or depreciates (Richard Mille) Wouldn’t mind betting the Insurance cost for that would be more than I’d be prepared to pay for a watch 😂
  7. Couldn’t agree any more. I spent 2 hours waiting for something to happen. Far too slow boring and tedious for me. Never seen a single episode of Friends either so no idea if that would have made any difference but would doubt it. 🥱 Yawn
  8. Always great to start a New year with Holidays planned. January for some can be depressing months of crap weather, not much daylight, over spent Xmas, carrying a lb or two extra ect ect. With something to look forward to like holidays makes the start to a year easier to wake up for when that 6am daily alarm call happens. France and Germany planned so far.
  9. Can’t remember if I posted this before of not. I went to my sisters 50th Birthday bash at a posh Hotel in Bristol 18 months ago where there was a ‘’Men’s’ door and a ‘Females’ door to the loos. The really weird bit was that after walking through the door of choice you then both met in the same room. One room. Communal cubicles and mirrors and wash basins. Whilst nobody at the party was of the ‘undecided’ variety, it was Just plain weird and noticeable uncomfortable for both men and women.
  10. That 1st post was obviously a tongue in cheek statement with 4 hours of the year to financially survive 😜 - Probably looked strange on 1st Jan. You Me started work - 15 started work -16 Tax - 41 years Tax - 37 years Retired - Yes Retired - No £10k Hols - 0 £10k Hols - 1 Bollox!! - Think you Trumped it though with the ‘Retired’ answer. 😜👍
  11. I’ve had an unexpected 2 weeks off. After picking the mended car up 9 days ago and driving it home no issues. Went to set off Wednesday morning and clutch went straight to the floor and didn’t return. I’ll be phoning brakedown at 6.30am Tuesday morning as I want it back in the garage being worked on as they open by 8.30am. 😡
  12. Couldn’t agree with you anymore. Bring it back soon as.
  13. Yes I was. Extremely slow. I got the cane 3 times. Like I said it was along time ago now. Todays school judicial system would probably have me contemplating the consequences of my actions by sitting me around in a circle talking about the whys and how’s of my upbringing and the consequences of my actions and what I would have done differently. That or some rehabilitation program. For the purposes of this conversation you can call that a speed awareness course.
  14. Many many years ago I accumulated 12 points. 4 separate speeding in 8 months. I was expecting a 12 month ban, but after appearing in front of a magistrate I was let off with a rather large fine and the words “you will only need to sneeze out of line in a car ect ect” I got lucky.
  15. Always thought these were a bit of a modern day myth but seems to work on an Emira. George is a local YouTuber in Exeter and the traffic officer Owen turns up at a lot of our local car events (in his own time) promoting road safety. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1DDJLpItR8/?igsh=MXJ4cDR4MXJhNWM3eA==
  16. Evora Insurance renewed with LV - increased from £348 to £425 20% increase for no other reason than quote “spray costs have gone up. Labour rates have gone up. Parts prices have gone up. Parts are harder to get. More uninsured drivers on the road and finally more vehicles getting stolen each year! Wish I’d never asked. And I still hate Insurance Companies. Had it 5 years this week. Just hit 20k mileage. Going to uncover it lunchtime, give it a treat and put a couple of miles on her. 😊
  17. 6 out of 7 but everyone a complete guess 😂
  18. My ‘Kin Clutch going again! 🤬 Early finish for Xmas it is then. 96k but Only 2 years old.
  19. Is electric the answer…… Well if it stops me getting through another damn clutch and a breakdown then maybe yes! 😡
