Breakfast Club format going forward

Hi Folks,

Well having canvassed many members (but not as many as I'd have liked!) at the January meeting, also at ClubLotus/LDC/LEGS gathering last night, for ideas and feelings and chatted with Brian this is our intention for the LEGS Breakfasts going forward.  These ideas can be modified under review and we are open to further ideas if somebody else would like to step up to the plate.

We will continue to meet once a month on the 1st Sunday.  The default location will be Mannerstons Farm Shop & Cafe https://mannerstons.co.uk where we have met a few times already.  We will not be sending out notifications or lists, PM's etc. for these.  It is very much a turn up if you wish.  We will continue to have other trips and visits on an Ad-Hoc basis which we will post up in the old manner.  These we will try for the 1st Sunday as usual but if clashes dictate may be other dates.

We already have one very exciting new addition for the 5th May more of which later and we hoped to resurrect the Petit Paris meet again this year.  These are going to be organised by individuals helping us, although Brian will still send out group PM's as information is provided.  Anybody wishing to arrange something please contact Brian or myself for discussion.

For those who may not know Ian Parkin has moved on from Leven Lotus and I am in touch with his replacement Laura Montgomery and we hope to also be hearing a bit more from her as she gets settled in including a possible track evening at Knockhill mid week mid April to dust the cars off for.  All to follow in the usual manner.  She will also be joining us on here soon.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the last meeting, I've been pretty busy recently. I'll definitely be making an effort to come to the regular meetings at Mannerston's.

It sounds like there are a few interesting events on the horizon 👍

Thanks for posting. 

Move not managed to attend since coming back into the Lotus fold last September however I’m keen to do so when weekends permit this year. 

I am very keen to do the Knockhill shakedown so keep me posted and did speak to Ian about it when I bought the car last year  

What is this Petit Paris thing which is being referred to? 

Hopefully meet up with some of you in the future.

[The Lotus Position]

The next breakfast meet is due this Sunday (3rd February) at Mannerstons Farm Shop & Cafe (near Linlithgow) at 10:00.  I've not been along to a breakfast meet for a wee while due to other commitments, but we'll be there this time. 

There are two very photogenic locations nearby that we could go to for some post breakfast photos if the weather is dry and bright.

So many other things on this year, getting more into the classic car scene with the Bo'ness revival and Glamis castle events. I would love to do the Petit Paris event again, Megan loved it.

Gents and ladies, this has to be worth a look for one of the meetings and in fact, it could easily be made the default choice for an informal meeting if nothing else is on!

I was about to post up a reminder about the November 3rd Breakfast meet at the default location Mannerstons near Linlithgow when I saw this post.

I was originally unable to attend meetings in November and December as my wife Jackie and I were going to be away in Australia and New Zealand on holiday over this time, however, we had to abort the NZ leg of our trip as Jackie's mum suffered a stroke and is in hospital and we had to return to the UK.

I have contacted Rhynd Cafe to see if they will welcome post 1978 cars! I'm sure it will be OK as I don't think they will turn away business, but me being me I do like to check.

I will send a group PM when I have heard and will post up on the Forum

I have now heard from Rhynd Cafe and although most of our cars are post 1978 they are happy for us to go along, the only criteria being that our cars are interesting. I would say they are so I will post up on the forum and send the group PM advising of this location for our next breakfast meeting.

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos. @Andrew C Andrew Laing posted a few on Lotus Ecosse Facebook. I suspect you don't do Facebook so here's a couple I have copied over.

The breakfast was good but the venue a bit out of the way. Despite that and the weather, which was pretty terrible we had my Esprit V8, 4x Evoras, 1 Elise, and the only pre '78 car in our group, my cousin Mike's Elan +2, oh and not forgetting Andrew's McLEGS 570S. A good turnout.
