  1. Around 16:00 on 25th heading S towards St. Moritz up the pass coming from the N. I was in the Blue one in a high speed convoy with a Verdant one heading N and downwards
  2. Anybody who is still on the fence be aware that Bill closes entries for this on Wed. 29th. You can’t just turn up on the day.

Likewise I was told about 2 months ago in secret 🤫 that sales were reverting to old model again within a few months. Didn’t want to break the confidence so didn’t post.

I shouldn’t really be shocked. What a farce. I’m just loving my few hundred mile old V6 bought with large £££ reduction rather than still be in that “queue” that I said from June 21 I wanted a base spec car. Glad I never waited.
  5. Nope we didn’t. We came down from Lake Lugano towards Genoa and then did a bit of lovely cross country before following E80- A11 to Lucca
  6. Oh and this is the second time I have driven length of the Almalfi coast and will never do it in a Lotus again! Last time was Sept. 2016 in a rental grot box and was fairly horrendous nose to tail traffic jam. No pleasure what so ever. This time I thought more off season and okay taking own cars. How wrong I could be!! Extremely stressful to put it mildly. Wife was quite upset thinking car about to be damaged. Many times we were inching back and forth just literally inch on each side with busses and walls. Not for the feint of heart! 😬
  7. Well myself, @bingokingand our wives are on a bit of a road trip through Europe. Driving 3K miles over 22 days and well over the half way mark. Been from home in Scotland to Hull for ferry to Rotterdam in Netherlands then down through Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland and into Italy as far as the Almalfi coast and currently on the way back. In Maranello to look at Prancing Donkeys and Annoyed Bulls yesterday and today before heading back up through Italian Lakes, Switzerland, Austria, Lichtenstein & Germany before heading back to ferry. Cars have attracted A LOT of attention partly because 2 in convoy of course. Lots of camera phones and roadside chats being had. You can also get a surprising amount of luggage in one and I'll take a photo at end of the trip but in ours we have 4 carry-on sized bags, 2 more soft bags and lots of coats and hats etc. and we can still sit in our normal driving positions and have full rear visibility. Not many great shots however of the trip as all the passes so far still closed for snow and the trip has been about food and wine rather than cars. Here are a few. Last UK Fuel at Hull docks Heading towards St. Gotthard tunnel Ditto Only to find that although a Wednesday it was day 1 of a 5 day public holiday in France and Switzerland and everybody else had the same idea and the tunnel all 18Km of it is traffic numbers limited! It became a long day with 3 hours additional time at wheel! First quick wash at Lucca as a lot of sand in the air from Sahara and cars were filthy by then Back at hotel Somewhere in Tuscany on the way to San Gimignano Enjoying a spot of wine tasting beside our hotel at Montepulcano unfortunately down a very dusty track so everything black became silver. Somewhere from my hotel room Today to keep SWMBO's happy we visited a stunning Balsamic Vinegar place outside Maranello/Modena. We thoroughly enjoyed the full experience and learned so much about it and why the real thing is so expensive. Our cars were much admired by all visitors and were asked to line up with their old Fiat trucks but unfortunately out of shot a big bus arrived and driver abandoned it.
  8. Breakfast Clubers Due to me being away most of May driving the Emira around Italy and only getting home on 28th I am suggesting we take the easy option again for this date. Not strictly speaking a unique LEGS date but we always have good Lotus turnouts. Sunday Worship through Classic Car Tours on the 2nd June. All the information can be found on this link here. You have to enquire, get approval, and then make a £10/head payment in advance but for that you do get your bacon buttie and a coffee. At least 2 of us are already booked to be going. Myself and @Dude so come and join the party. Usually a good eclectic mix of cars there and a friendly bunch and good roads to drive to get there. I am intending to go a 'scenic' route leaving from just under Stirling Castle if anybody is interested. PM or email etc. and I'll give info. I can also arrange an after event drive out if anybody is interested to take in some scenic roads. Hopefully we can hope to see a few new faces out this time.
  9. Hi Rick, I will be posting up soon about our 2nd June Breakfast Club meeting in LEGS section. At that my son will have along his 350 Sport if that is any use. He like me has had Elise, then Evora S and then one of the last 350’s so will be able to talk Pro’s Con’s and differences.
  10. I’m sure many Ferrari’s had the same tail lights which looked like Lotus copied anyway for the Elise initially, so if good enough for them to put a family style appearance on the rear view then so be it for Lotus (IMHO)
  11. Great to see and good to see your Dad still looking fit and with it. It obviously meant a lot to you both and a bit of a tear jerker for me if not you. It is a sign of age I think as I can cry at cartoons these days! I remember chatting to him in the back of Bibs car one Christmas doo. It brought back memories for me as well. Although it was some years on from the Evora launch he still remembered my "problematic" car. I have his signature on the Corgi Esprit S1 that was done a few years back that was copying @GordonMasson pre production chassis.

    Bye Scotland!

Oh there are so many great memes and pictures doing the rounds but I'd be liable for arrest under our wonderful new Hate Crimes Law.
  13. Great of you to share this Gary and puts all lives other little aches and pains (Like the SNP) into perspective. It really brings home the importance of that bowel screening test every 2 years. I was so pi$$ed off with a mate recently who "poo poo'd" the whole idea and said a waste of time and disgusting to do it. What he was trying to do is anybody's guess! Good luck with your arguments with Bob.
  14. Hmmmm, a thoughtful and I'd say well balanced report. Lots of facts in there as well which I didn't pick up any errors on.
  15. Interesting wheels! Only a mother could love them. Probably paid silly money for them as well!
  16. Does anybody have any ideas for a meet on the 5th? Brian & myself and "other halves" are unlikely to be able to attend as start a 3 week driving holiday in the Emira's to Almalfi coast area and more starting on the Monday early.
  17. For those of you at Carfraemill for the last Breakfast Club you may remember there was a young couple who turned up and asked if we would mind some photography being taken of our cars. I got talking to them and have been corresponding since. She is an award winning photographer in a number of different fields but loves her automotive work. They were actually on their way to Knockhill to do some action shots when they happened to pass our car park display and turned round. She is keen to expand her work in the automotive field and as such would be happy to come out to do a photoshoot for not very much at this point in time if you are interested. Doesn't have to be Lotus! If you follow her socials below you will see what she managed ad-hoc with my car on that day. She has more like LinkedIn as well Website: www.laurengilholm.co.uk Instagram: @laurengilholmstudios e-mail: Lauren.gilholm@outlook.com Here is an example. She even managed to make my car look clean!
  18. This whole thread is in Emira Chat section so you are probably best to post up in the Evora section to attract Sport 410 owners. As much of the car will be already drawn I’d guess that Dan may be able to do a fresh review for a bit less commitment than we had to find. Try a PM to him. I have his email if you require it. I have 2 already of Evora S and Elise S and very happy.
  19. For anybody maybe on the fence about ordering one Dan has now finalised the artwork for these plaques and those of us who are early adopters have got our proofs and updates done and signed off for production.
  20. Final reminder. Germiston Gait departure at 09:15 or meet at Caffraemill 10:00 for breakfast. So far we have 10 Lotus cars turning out (+ 1 interloper hiding at the back) and around 17 people.
  21. Hi Folks, Time to put your names down and commit if definitely attending so we can warn hotel for breakfast numbers and separate seating reserved. If you are replying on the WhatsApp group chat no need to answer here. So far we have 5 over there any from here? If coming are you intending to join us at Hermiston Gait before departure at 09:15 or just directly at Caffraemill? Cheers, Al
  22. The pressures the PO used were what the 400 series cars were running when they changed onto Michelin from the original fitment Pirelli’s which were like butter for life.
  23. Very true, and yes we did. I actually found the Bluebird building strangely moving (possibly not the best word). I was reading everything and watching the video playing and felt in awe of these guys but then there was a different mentality after WW2 for many people I guess. Nowadays the Elf N Safety brigade would stop it all.
  24. Traditional Yellow / Green for the wheels as much as I like the Black silver for the ‘bonnet’ for me. (I did try this myself once by photoshop)
