Central Door locking

Hi All,

Has anyone had and knows how to sort this?

When I lock my Esprit (96 V8) with the alarm remote the drivers door keeps unlocking, the passenger door stays locked and the alarm arms ok. If I keep hitting the arm button the door eventually stays locked, I can lock the door with the key ok.

Just a guess but a couple of thoughts are:

The door lock motor may not be moving far enough to engage the door lock. Possibly due to wear, lack of current etc.

The door lock mechanism may be stiff and resisting the movement of the door lock motor.

Thanks for the tips, decided I'm going to strip the door down clean and lube everything and see what happens,

my drivers door lock would often not lock.

I bought an actuator from europe, IIRC, you need a Left Vauxhall motor for the riight hand Lotus door, and a right door vauxhall for the left side lotus door.

Thanks for the info, I will at some point strip the door and give everything a good clean and lube. Do you remember from what Vauxhall the actuator came from?

Be aware that the mechanisms are sided. At least, that’s what I wrote before! So you’d need a left gm for a right lotus and a right gm for a left lotus.
