Should I be able to see oil pressure when only on the starter motor?

Car not started in 31 years…

Can't answer that Stefan but will say there are more important concerns if starting for the 1st time in 31 years, as you probably know. Both timing belt and dry sump drive belt would top of my list to replace before doing much with that motor. Let us know what you find please.

thanks for your concern 🙏🏻
everything is changed, I was just going to check the ignition and it was okay. But a few seconds on the starter did not give an effect on the oil guage.

Yes, I get oil pressure showing on the gauge on my dry sump by just cranking. It will take more than a few seconds though especially if not been used for a while.

Remove the plugs, fully open the throttles & it'll take at least 30 seconds to register pressure on the gauge as it first has to fill the oil filter

Can be tricky getting oil pressure on an 'empty' system.   I always prime it first by simply disconnecting the turbo feed on the block, pushing on a hose that's suspended maybe 1 metre high and putting a funnel on top.  Fill the funnel and leave until oil stops draining away.   You could of course achieve the same effect a little quicker by pumping oil instead of using gravity.   Before you reattach the turbo oil feed, squirt some oil into the hose to the turbo.

On my dry sump motor, if it has not run for a while I switch off the fuel pumps and crank until oil pressure builds towards 60psi before switching on a pump to start. It does take a while, so it pays to have a charged battery.
