Hi,

After a little help and advice please!!

trying to refurbish my rear callipers.

does anyone know how to separate the aluminium casing from the iron bracket? I’ve tried heating up the iron part but to no avail!!

thoughts??

All, just to give you an update; I managed to free the two parts from each other. There are two holes on the side of the bracket. The smaller one is the one holding the pin. I could not get either pin to recess (despite hitting them with a drift); so ended up drilling them out. Will now replace with a grub screw. Apparently these do need separating otherwise they make the piston bind as the corrosion between the two metals creates inward pressure.. it’s all in the guide that was kindly shared on this post.
