South East Convoy

Recommended Posts

Most people from the South East will be heading along the M11, can I suggest that a meet at the Birchanger service on the M11 by Bishop's Stortford at 10.30 for an 11am departure on Saturday morning? The SW guys will be passing around that time and we can 'mega-convoy' up from there?

I'll be there then for coffee, see ya there

Looks like there will be a meeting of convoys at Besthorpe like last time. I think N.SMEG and the Southern convoy should all be there about 12.15-12.30

egg/meat/unknown gear down my throat...

En-suite room see, no worries.

Hi All,

There are traffic lights on the Birchanger Green Services round about on the exit, so it's highly likely the convoy will be split in two or if we're really unlucky maybe three. Obviously we'll need some sort of plan in the morning to get round this, otherwise the front guys will be in Duxford before those at the rear get down the on ramp  . I'd sugest possibly if the cars in front take it easy in the inside lane of the M11 until those at the rear catch up in the middle lane, then we can all keep together.

See you in the morning

Martyn :)

Good thinking Martyn :)

If we do 60 after leaving the services, and have a nominated backmarker that's easy to recognise - when the backmarker goes past, we'll know everyone's out past the lights and we can then make better progress

We'll sort it out at the services I'm sure.

you can have our backmarker he is yellow and easy to spot...

Have to say the convoy was a little ragged in places (more like a race  ) but such good fun.

Did anyone see Bibs pull into the Wensum in an M100 with his hair all over the place

I don't think the traffic helped much and BigSi's pit stop broke up the convoy a bit as well. Still it all seemed to go really well from the Little Chef stop on the A11 the two circuits around the round about near norwich was great fun  .

..With me in the lead right?

Tom Tom mate, went all staggery and froze. The roundabout only turned

to the correct orientation when i was halfway round it. I'd like to play down

the 'I know the way' that i claimed when we set off from the stop...
