A big 'HELLO!' from the Netherlands from a Fresh Evora S IPS owner

Hello all,

 

Just quick intro before i dive into the forum with all sorts of questions 🙂

 

My name is Henk-Jan (Typical Dutch double name), but better known as HJ2 around various fora.

Why HJ2? Well, you need at least 2 of everything to be happy in life (besides women obviously, one is enough 🙂

 

Before the Evora, I owned a Lotus Elan M100 S2 for 15 years. I'm afraid I am gonna miss it very much. It's found a new home in Belgium last summer, coincidentally also the country where i bought it initially.

When I bought the Lotus, i knew nothing about car-tech (but a lot of other tech-stuff) and i was afraid to go bankrupt within the year, so i stated myself the goal that i would do every job myself, with the credo OEM- or better (usually the latter). Good for me that after a few weeks the head gasket decided to blow up, so i learned fast. That also was applicable to my English, but I am still learning every day 😉

I was very happy with the LEC forum (hello Rambo!) and it helped me a lot with all small and large jobs on the car. Later I was able to return the favor with my knowledge and help others out. I even ended up restoring a couple of them.

What was the best about the M100 was the community around it. Be it online, or irl. We met a lot of new friends close by, but actually all over the globe. That was also the reason that the follow-up should be a Lotus as well, no doubt!

 

I will spare you the details on the selection for now, but we are now the (very) proud owner of a 2013 Lotus Evora S IPS!

With the Evora I need to relearn EVERYTHING all over again, which is a bit annoying. Also there is no LEC (Lotus Elan Central forum ) equivalent for the Evora. I even have to learn how to drive all over again, hahaha.

 

I will keep you postend on my progress on this new amazing journey and hope to find new (and a couple of old) friends here

Superb choice and wow, you M100 looked absolutely superb!

Welcome to TLF - We've a huge amount of Evora content on here (we used to have just evoraforum.com for a few years) and plenty of super helpful and knowledgable owners so I'm sure you'll be made very welcome and get plenty of advice
