The restoration of 175G

I'd have to say you'd be better insulating the bodyshell centre rather than chassis.

Not only will it be a water trap next to the steel chassis, it is the bodyshell which will benefit from the insulation, particular to minimise resonation on the flat panel walls.

I used thick closed cell foam, which is more water repellent.

The whole chassis is POR’d and waxoyled inside and there’s very little chance it’ll ever see rain while it’s in my ownership. The foam is actually a neoprene yoga mat, again Matt’s idea.

Yes, neoprene is OK, but not water repellent like closed cell foam. Think "wet" suits. "Closed" being the operative word here.

Once on the road you might find the Esprit a compelling car to drive, and get caught out in rain at times. So don't discount that. I've driven 1,600 miles in my S1 this summer alone.

When is this beautiful work available in hardback form 😁

From last June, but it's about £100 for a single print. Just buy a telescope and point it up the coast.

Looks great! - Where did you get your ignition lead tidy clamp things? And looking at these pictures, it is interesting to see how the airbox designs evolved - does anyone know what caused these changes doing production? I know that the S1 needed various improvements for cooling - so perhaps related to that but curious is there is any other info out there on this.
