Noob jacking question

My hydraulic lift lifts no further than this so my crappy big axle stands only go this far...

 

Should I not jack this way?

Lower the jack with the car the height it is. Put the jack on some STABLE packing, such as paving slabs or thick planks. Jack up again to the new height. Repeat as required. 

Or just buy a bigger jack.

Those lower control arms are NOT intended to be used to support (or tow) the Esprit.

 

I've seen several bent ones... 😶‍🌫️

 

I would suggest fitting your stands under the jack points on the sills. Then do the 'rinse and repeat' action in the previous post.

Oops didn't look closely and missed the axle stand position. 100% agree don't put them there. Under the hub uprights is an alternative to the jacking points on the sills (which at a quick glance is where i thought they were)
