Radiator fans

I took my car for the annual state inspection and while looking from under the car with the engine running, I notice that only 2 out of 3 fans were working... I told my mechanic and he thinks maybe the third (right side one) radiator is for the AC...

Is that the case or is my 3rd radiator fan not working ?

I think your mechanic needs to take a look at the circuit diagrams! All three fans are controlled from the same relay, triggered by either the ECU or AC.

Each fan does have its own fuse, so that's the first place to look. Next, check the wiring for a bad contact in a connector or a broken wire or similar.

If you DO find a blown fuse, check the effort required to spin the blades on each fan (with the car OFF, of course). ☺️

 

A 'high-resistance' fan motor might respond favorably to a drop of light oil on it's shaft. We have one o' those.
