Boost Gauge Graduations

This is the boost gauge on my '88 carburettor turbo.

Its only got one label at 1.2bar

Anyone have any idea which mark is the 0.65bar mark?

There are 8 steps - if it was linear then each is 0.15bar, but they don't look very linear.

Manual says not to drive with boost over 0.65bar, but not much help if you don't know which mark it is

As a guess, I'd say the first is 0.25, the second 0.5 then 0.1 increments to 1.0 then a slightly larger gap to 1.2. This makes .65 with the needle dead vertical, under the 2nd 'o' of 'boost'.

I would recommend using Freescan or installing a anologue boost gauge in order ot see what your electric boost gauge is doing. I've had a few Esprits and all read differently. SO I wouldn't take what you see as gospel.

Thanks guys - I think I'm going to do some checks against another gauge sometime.

Might also do a bit of my own data logging once I get organized.

Can't use Freescan as my car's an '88 carb - no EFI!
