Secondary Iniector resistor RELAY

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I HAVE A MISTAKE ON MY FUSEs & RELAIs BOX, WHERE'S THE SECONDARY INIECTOR RESISTOR RELAYs!!!!!!.

ON MY OWNER BOOK FOR THE 4 CYL ENGINE AND FOR MY GT3 (WITH THE NEW INTERIOR LIKE V8) I MUST HAVE 9 RELAYs FROM a TO i LETTERs, AS MENTIONED ON THE SHEET ATTACHED, IT'S THE PICTURE OF MY OWNER LOTUS BOOK!

THIS IS A VERY MISTAKE, BECAUSE AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE PHOTO ATTACHED THE RELAYs THAT THERE IS NOT IS THE LETTER "e" AND IT'S SECONDARY INIECTOR RESISTOR !!!! THIS IS WROTE ON THE BOOK AND ITS ABOUT THE RELAYs FOR THE 4 CYL, FOR THE V8 IS DIFFERENT

HOWEVER NOW THIS IS A VERY VERY MISTAKE ! ALSO BECAUSE ON THE SPACE FOR THIS RELAY THERE AREN'T THE METALLIC CONNECTION SO I CAN TRY TO FIT A RELAY HERE,....

what you think about? However attached there's the picture of the fuse relais box on the right wheel arch at the rear bonnet near the battey and HOWEVER perhaps this is in other position because near the external other relay there's a other that could be this relay that was fitted in other position...however I think that is a mistake....also just near my performance problem of my car!

I just took a picture of my S4 fusebox. At location e is the secondary injector resistor (3.3 ohm). It is not a relay, just a resistor in a module. In your picture it is missing, and that should result in a code 26 error. Is that the case?

Also, I have no relay at location f, but in your picture the socket is occupied. Can you verify whether that is a relay?

Erik that all sound like very strange and mistake case!

so following our manual on the fuse box we should have 8 RELAYs (on the box) and 1 out of the fuse box, I HAVE 2 RELAYs out of the fuse box! so or at Hethel have fitted the all relays and so the second.inject. resistor have fitted out, but first why and then how to check which is the second.injectror resistor here!!!??

HOWEVER THE OTHER SOCKET FREE ON MY FUSE BOX are empty of (metallic conduction so I just tried to use the free socket but I can't fit a relay here)

sometimes the code26 sort out, but as we know that's a common code and common problem, however my secondary injector not work at 100% on my car! !

the problem now is understand if the relays/resistor are correclty on my car, someone that have a GT3 with the last interior or however the fuse box like my car on the right wheel arch on the bonnet can send us a photo so we can understand this mistake!

ps. Erik do you not have other relay just near out to the fuse box?, following my picture you can see a white relay just out the fusebox but THERE'S A OTHER BLACK RELAY (in photo is difficult see but there's)......

helps please!

I'm not familiar with the GT3 setup but relays outside the box sounds non-standard to me. Are you the first owner of the car? If not, do you know whether a previous owner fitted an electric chargecooler pump? Sometimes they use an additional relay for this, so that may account for the non-standard setup.

Perhaps another GT3 owner can compare and comment?

Good luck,

Erik

Pages 39 and 40 of the 'ML' Electrical manual for the S4 and Sport300 show the same as what the photo by eriks4 has. The GT3 is slightly different for the fuses.

espritpassion, in your photo, can you confirm whether what looks like another relay just above the fuses is actually a relay?

I'm the 2nd owner of the car however the old owner unlcky died before to buy it.....however not electric chargecooler on my car, I changed the impellor last week (and the original was perfectly), certainly a other GT3 owner can compare it, I HOPE !!!

My only doubt is that the old owner (he was old) for reduce the power of this car and perhaps the 100%works of second.injector had said someone or to some mechanich but I think at some specialist that have reduce the power handling with someone.....!!!!because my car generally is ok but I seen a GT3 last week and it was a rocket, and was standard stock car!, when I bought I fitted chip+larini+BOV+KN.....but not have never seen the Esprit that all talked about always about the performance!

Derek: good advert: I will check it, did photos and post them later, I think that the white is a relay, for the other black (in photo do not see well) I will check and did photos....

However the mistake becomes more and more without a reasons!!!!

ps. ERIK in your free socket (on the fuse box) do you have the metallic pins connection to fit a relay here....can you try at the relay "F" position if you can fit a one or it's only empty so you can fit nothing here!

Oh thank you for your post!!!!

however at Lotus did a manual and said a thing, after built a car different, but where's and which is the 2^inijector relay? if on our manual said that is different! mahhhhh....lotus is a mistake!

also, on the V8 I read that the 5AMP fuse could be the reason for the major electrical fault EXPECIALLY THE SPEEDO crazy (like my fault) and suggest to fit a new one here, it's as mentioned on the manual on the 2^ position, but for the GT3 is different, someone know about.....

SAILORBOB: yes my owners manual is for the GT3 CERTAINLY!, my car is the GT3 with the V8 interior, the owners manual is too for v8, because on the front page there's wrote GT3 & V8 manual

However as you can see on the picture photos of the manual you can see that in the page there's wrote the part for the 4 cyl, for v8 is a next to page.....

about the relay B, I agree with you it's true, for the Gt3 there isn't the EBV solenoid, perhpas is for the throotle jack.....mah !

There is no throttle jack on the GT3 either. I suspect that when the electrics were revised the owners manual was not updated.

Is there a workshop manual available for the electrics on your car?

I don't know if it was revised however this is not the first mistake on this car!

about the workshop manual, I got a one that it was for V8 GT3 and S4s, is the version with the yellow Esprit on the top of the page, I will open it and see it......

according to your sheet ERIK, 98on cars have got some mods and sold with the old book!

SOMEONE CAN SAID ABOUT THE SPEEDO PROBLEM (crazy speedo when car is in N or revving): I read about on the v8 section and someone said that have changed only THE B2 5AMP FUSE (as you can see up on the sheet posted from Erik) it's ECM & COOLANT PUMP, changed it said that not more problems!

I looked and according to the sheet also posted from Erik certainly as you can see the fuses are different for the 4cyl, the only one 5AMP is other is for EBVP (see the sheet), if you try to go for position on B2 position the fuse is 25AMP and for fuel filler flap

what you reccomand me to check or change? I thinked to go to try for B1 and B4 fuses that means someone of ECM....???????

  • 4 years later...

Mine is the same (98 GT3)

fusebox.jpg

The two extra relays outside the fusebox are normal and I think are for the vacuum pump. There is nothing missing from your fusebox.

Nice picture. Getting to the bottom of my non starting Esprit. Okay so its not the ECU. Have bypassed the immobiliser, and consider the alarm module got damaged when the previous owner connected up the battery the wrong way round. My car starts now, but I'm wondering if before I bought it the relays have been swapped round before (last bloke trying to find the issue). My GT3 relay station looks like this, yet the service book, schematics say all these relays from 18-25 are the same, a Relay Double contact 2 x 15Amp, ref B082M6182F. Yet the grey Bosch type and the brown Siemens aren't the same. Can someone help?

Also in the front the a relay remains warm, and I have battery drain. Great if someone can take a photo of their GT3 front relay station. cheers
