Well guys - you missed a treat here.

Think Goodwood Festival of speed but up North!!

Held in the grounds of Cholmondeley (pronounced Chumley) Castle.

They have a purpose built time trial track, and lots of other activities taking place over the weekend. Powerboats on the lake, helicopter displays - even had a spitfire doing an aerial display.

A few NMEG boys decided to hook up with former Esprit owners Graham (gc1) and Adrian (snuffy) with their nobles. We ended up with three esprits and 4 nobles.

Firstly though our resident legal eagle had a bit of an encounter en route

In typical lawyer style he stopped and ran back down the road to get the name and address of the other party, but in typical style the other party was uninsured and had legged it. If anyone hears of a rabbit being taken to a vets with collision injuries I'm sure Graham would like to know!

Thanks to Graham Crooks and Louise for the hospitality and all the others that made it such a good day despite the leaky gazebo. I think the Graham mod for the second downpour definitely improved the water resistance.

Went to Cholmondley on Saturday, so missed the main LEF gathering.

Probably got a better day weather wise but no Spitfire!

Fabulous day though, great collection of cars, boats, helis and military.

A most agreeable weekend, apart from the rain. I managed to drive at least 50% further than I should have done by going the wrong way whilst leaving, and I think I like the closest to the place !

Well a great day spoilt by the weather and a bloody rabbit.

I hit the rabbit on the A53 just before our meeting point at Market Drayton.

Bugger managed to smash the splitter and leave me now with a repair bill

Tried to get his parents details but I guess he was uninsured.

Journey to Cholmondeley Castle was fairly prompt and uneventful.

Soon found Graham and Lou and some character called " Snuffy " ( good to see you again Ade ) claiming to be the Noble owners crew

Bacon and eggs were soon on the way before wandering around the grounds.

Lots to see, some great stuff including military hardware, Le Man Jags, genuine GT 40's, Veyrons, Car Clubs and Spitfire display accompanied by 633 Squadron via Ade Heath's sound system

Great BBQ at lunch time even if we did get wet trying to cook it and eat it.

More heavy rain in the afternoon sadly put the dampers on things but great company get us going to the bitter end.

Big thanks to Graham Crook for the invite. I thought it was a great day out and would love to do it again ........................ but in the dry.
