Chargecooler pump shaft

Just wondering if anyone knows what material the pump shaft is made out of? The machine shop I am looking at to turn me a shaft have checked the shaft and it is magnetic so that rules out 316 stainless, but there are other stainless steels that are magnetic. Being subject to water immersion, I presume it is a stainless but who knows?

I therefore throw the question to the forum to see what I get back. I really want to get the pump and seals to the shop tomorrow so they can sleeve the housing and turn me a new shaft because I really want to drive a car again that can accelerate up a hill  because the Honda Civic GLi that I am driving runs out of steam on the hills I drive going to work.

Thanks everyone.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

needs to be a strong stainless steel, and needs to be ground so it has a hard surface.

This is my original Lotus one, completely corroded.

I had a stainless one made at one point and it showed wear after only 10 miles.

Here is my later stainless one that was ground (this one has ~20k miles on it)
