Mushroom in my boot! S3 1981

So i have seen lots of pictures of boot floors but none like mine. In the middle of the boot floor is a big rubber bung which is hollow so you can see all the way through the floor. What is it. Has it been added. Its big enough to nearly get ya hand through!!

Wayne, have a look under the fuel tanks - should be similar sized holes which should also have rubber bungs in. If you order one for the boot, order 2 of these to protect your tanks. Not sure if they are exactly the same size though.

Seem to remember somone saying you can pick them up in a plumbing shop, not a Lotus part.
