Frederik, this sounds great! I wanted to come over last year, but work got in the way, so this year I will plan further ahead. I love this area or Belgium. I brought my parents over there from Canada this summer; so that we could find my Great Uncle's grave. He died during WW1. We also took in the last post and the menin gate. Like you said, the roads are great and the whole time we were driving around in the Jag, I was thinking how nice this would be in the Esprit...

Cheers

Felix

Glad to see you considering to come over for Ypres Lotus Day, we prove you a fantastic (Lotus) day.

Last edition we had several English participants and they all loved it!

Their comment was that Lotus events in Belgium are so much different, and the driving experience and roads are so nice.

If you want help finding somthing specific, please let us know.

We have a special roadbook available in English for participants that come over for more than one day.

Just ask for that, last year several English participants used it and where very happy with the extra tour with details and interesting points allround Ypres.

The most English participants booked at the Best Western hotel in Ypres not so far from the starting point, but there are so much other options.

It would be a better hoon! :P

Solid chance I'll pop over, Belgium is great :D

Bibs ... come over. tast it and u will become a yearly participant.

Like I wrote before ... all the english participants from our last edition where so exited about our organisation.

Just did a major update of our participants list ...

http://www.lotusforum.be/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=2915

74 and counting ...

And ... we love to see more English particpiants ... :wub

Like we told before... reminds Ypres Lotus Day is Benelux (maybe more) biggest event in the "historic" Ypres region.

For the particpants love to discover the Ypres regio the day before or after YLD, we're pleased to provide an extra roadbook fully loaded with nice roads and interesting points allround the region. Ask for it ... organisation@ypreslotusday.be

a nice comment in our guestbook:

To any Brits who are wondering whether to come to the Lotus Ypres Day 2011. Do so. I attended last year's event with my 14yro son as navigator for the first time. We had a ball. Its a great feeling, and a beautiful sight, assembling in the Ypres town square. The welcome and encouragement by the organisers, police and towns people is unlike anything that you will experience in heath and Safety obsessed UK. Its beautifully organised and there some great routes through the WWI battlefields to drive through. Even when we broke down (power loss - eventually traced to a split fuel line to the electric fuel pump) we were taken in and given tea by a family en route and the organisers stayed in touch until we had been picked up buy the recovery truck.

Don't worry about the language barrier - there isn't one. Almost all speak excellent English and are very friendly. So if you see a Caterham Seven Super Sprint in 'prisoner' colours it will be me having a second attempt at getting around all four roadbooks this time.

Less than 3 weeks from today ... Belgium's biggest and nicest Lotus event of the Year ...

Registrations still open! The event is located on an official holiday with 3 day's to return to England. :)

At this moment 7 English cars registrated ... and we want MORE! :wub

We love the English particpants, and the English particpants love our nice roads and friendly and open group.

Just come over and taste the hughe Lotusmadness in Belgium, hitting some parts of the well know Ypres WRC Rally roads - allround the battlefields.

If you come over for several days, we love to provide an extra roadbook so English participants can do a special tour with several stops and interesting points allround Ypres, just ask the roadbook by email organisatrion@ypreslotusday.be :brum

Will I made it to Ypres and what a nice day. I think it is now time for a cold one in the square. The Esprit looks lonely by herself parked in the square...
