MY12 Evora

Same here, he is a big unknown in my country. But that does not change the fact he is a celebrity in the UK.

And therefore Lotus should exploit him for winning the auction in their home (and biggest) market.

He's a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Ferrari fan and this is his 2nd Lotus of late. You may have heard that he's the man who spent the most on a single car ever paying a cool £12,000,000 on a 250 GTO last year.

I've offered him a loan of a white S1, he mentioned on his radio show not so long ago (to almost 9,000,000 listeners) he was after one.

Wouldn't it make sense to start with the gearbox cables if you want to upgrade parts to the MY12? Bibs, can you get the price on these?

Of course, I'm assuming the improvements are as substantial as Lotus are saying (could it get worse?).

Asked my dealership about them - car going into service in 2 weeks and will get some guarantee issues solved (about 10...) plus some other improvements. The mechanic recommended to wait until he had the chance to drive a MY12 himself to see whether the gearchange is significantly better or not. So will stick to the existing cables for the winter season and might replace them next spring...

Wasn't that the car once owned by James Coburn? I think that one went for a fortune as well

Heading down to the 60th Anniversary bash in 2008 we were listening to his Friday drive time show when he was on in the afternoon. If you recall he invited listeners to text in their plans for their weekend and he read out the interesting ones. My wife texted that we were were on our way to Hethel in the Esprit. He not only read it out (my one and only name check on radio) but reckoned the Esprit was one of the best sports cars ever, definitely the best Bond car and he would love an S1 if he could find one. :)

He also ran a charity auction for someone to drive his "Magnificent 7" Ferrari's to this years Goodwood Festival of Speed and then had them parked them up in the open display area. He actually relayed their departure (I assume from his house) live on the radio. I was at Goodwood and mighty handsome they looked to.

  • 3 weeks later...

I guess the same as me, we are hungry for Evora news and wonder the internet in search of.

But you are the lucky one, soon you'll have yours and your itch will be scratched. I have to wait 1.5 years still :(

Yesterday I saw a white Evora on the motorway here in Belgium. 2nd time I have seen one 'in the wild'. What a car :unworthy:

True. What do you think the MY13 will look like, or are you planning for a MY14? I assume the front end will look like the GTE.

Regarding white ones, my dealer special ordered a MY11 in Aspen White with Oyster interior: http://www.autosport...os.aspx?ID=2133

Comes with its own coke spoon.

They also painted the roof of that Porsche Viper Green custom job black: http://www.autosport...os.aspx?ID=2175

That Viper Green looks soooo good !! A few weeks ago I asked my dealer what the cost would be for this PTS color and it turned out it is the same price as the 'premium paint' option. Very reasonable.

Love it but think will go with Ardent red anyway, maybe I am brave come order time and do something wild :) .

I can't wait for MY14, that is too far away, I am ordering fall / winter next year for a spring '13 delivery.

So a MY13 it will be and honestly, I hope and suspect MY13 will still look the same.

The only 'issue' I still have is the manual A/C , hope MY13 gets the auto A/C function.

Since I blew it by posting a video of a MY11 car, I might as well keep going with the Evora porn:

I would like to order a MY 2012 Evora S in Autumn Bronze as my MY 2010 Evora NA is total loss...

I don't know if the Premium Pack Sport with Black leather and red stitching will match with it or would be nicer with the Suede Tex ?

Any advice?

Aha , you are the lucky one with the total loss :)

I had seen your car for sale some time ago but when I saw it at FKM I did not realise it was yours.

I think Autumn bronze with the black sport interior with red stitching would look good if you get the car with the red calipers. That will tie the inside and outside together. You could also ask for silver stitching if you would prefer, choice between red, yellow and silver according to this :

Maybe this can give you a rough idea:

There is no stitching options in the Premium Pack Sport... It's like on the Lotus configurator: Red stitching whith Ebony Black leather, and Black stitching on the Venom Red, Imperial Blue and Cocoa Brown...

I saw the Sienna Brown in Franfkurt, really nice. But won't be for me ;)

that Cayman is so ugly. not a single pure line from any angle.

I agree, but I took an Evora, Cayman, M3, IS F, and Carrera out at Lime Rock and the Cayman was a close second to the Evora. I really liked it. In fact, I liked the cars in that order. I loathed the Carrera so much that I'll never get in a 911 again. I don't think you should have to go so far to meet the car where it wants to be driven. The Evora was, of course, sublime, albeit underpowered compared to the rest, but as long as you downshifted on the uphill it had no trouble keeping pace with the others.
