So who went ?

Only saw 3 other Esprits (pretty sure the yellow one was Ashley), another red GT3 and a Titanium V8 both of which i didn't recognise. Saw Mikes Carlton, very nice B) HUGE collection of Elise/Exige's there though.

Good eveing out - we spent most of it with the track guys in the pits and on the pit wall as usual (bext place to see action at Brands imo) - pity the weater wasn't better although it held out and didnt rain too much and the food was excellent :)

Simulator was hilarious !! :):)

Pitty I didn't meet up with ya Ash, very nice car btw.

Mine was the one parked near the go-kart track with no front plate :):)

The dealer (Lipscomb) is about 1 mile from my house !

The open day is on Sat 22nd July - if you're popping down it should be a good meet. I planned out a hoon route/after hoon party at my house a few weeks ago but got mixed interest so far. The Kent seloc lot have a post meet hoon and pub lined up though so probably tag along with them.

More details as I know them/closer to the date.

So who went ?

It was pouring with rain when I got home :) and haven't driven the Esprit in the wet yet so decided not to risk it !!. I did go down to Bromley on Sunday, there were quite a few Esprit on the Club Lotus stand including a superb Essex. I'll post some Pictures of the Loti at Bromley tomorrow in the Bromley Pageant thread.

Bye

Martyn.

Chickened out as it was pouring in Surrey. Decided to get underneath the car and remove the radiator instead...just for fun!

Yeh...got there and parked up by about 7. Saw Ashley's first and thought the "other" red GT3 was yours Jon despite having sat behind you for an hour or so on the M40 last week (ooops - where did I put those specs). I thought the NMY V8 that Lipscomb had there looked good if a bit pricey! Watched a couple of track sessions and toured the car park by 8 and couldn't persuade my "guests" that those burgers looked like good food - and I guess I'd pushed my luck with the weather and specialist nature of the event (!) - so we left about 8:15 to get some posh nosh. Sorry to have missed you guys. Next time maybe.

Mike

Loving Lionel and Eleanor......missing Charlie and Sonny

I was there too but not in the Esprit. Weather was filthy so decided to take the everyday car. A good turnout especially Elises's and the food was great. Ashley (lovely GT3) and I had a stroll around the circuit which gives you a completely different perspective on foot. Thought the 02 plated V8 was a little pricey at around

Lipscome are already open, selling & fixing cars (they've got my Elise atm), their showroom iirc is the largest in the UK atm, loads of cars in there.

Lipscomb Lotus

The HUGE main complex being built out front is for the Volvo / Lotus showroom, seen the plans for it and it looks superb, it wont be finished until about November though, last I heard it was ahead of schedule. Lipscomb are onto being the biggest dealer I know of, the whole site is going to be crammed with servicing, spares and glassfibre repair......and it's all on my doorstep :):):)

If you go along - turn up the side entrance and go along right to the very end. Mark, Mark and Paul will be more than happy to see you and show you around their stock + the plant !!

Mark got the V8 there becuase he loves Esprits and as we were saying the Elise Exiges are nice but nothing compared to the V8. It was actually owned, maintained at the factory itself, just been fully serviced there so I would expect the asking price to reflect it's only been at the factory and been looked after.

As for the Esprit V8 vs the Exige....chalk and cheese but Esprit for me - esp in that condition / wheel combi.
