Power Tool Drag Racing

Well that was a new one on me. Spent the day at Yeovilton watching some nutters running their Power Tool powered drag racers down a 100 meter strip on the runway. They varied from a single chainsaw engined luge/skateboard style run by the Navy

or a mini Moto

or a mountain bike

Or pure battery lawn mower power

or twin engines go carts

Even a four engine quad could accelerate this bulk

or a 4 engined C5

"Top fuel" in this series appears to be no less than 8 engines seen packed into a trike

or a 3 wheel dragster (this is just the left bank!)

and the eventual winner a more conventional design (albeit with the 8 engines!)

Bit of a laugh really. The winner was running sub 6 seconds with a terminal speed over 60mph. Several of the others weren't that far behind. Impressive, but completely mad.
