Esprit Servicing nr Milton Keynes needed

Hi All,

After over 18 months with my car off the road I am nearing the goal of my '99 GT being back on the road.

Unfortunately the last hurdle was to get a 'B' service and the cam belts changed as it has not been serviced for 2 years whilst not in use.

I have enquired at the new Lotus Silverstone only to be told they do not service Esprits!!!

Can anyone recommend a good Lotus garage/specialist near Milton Keynes that supports the V8 Esprit.

Sorry we couldn’t assist you on this occasion Adam, we just don’t have the tools or the service notes to complete the job on your Esprit.

As mentioned in my email, we highly recommend Paul Matty...Although this is a 1.5 hour trip.

I'm sure the guys on here can point you in the right direction.

A few years ago I heard that Paul Matty wasn't really interested in servicing V8's. I used to use Nick Whale's (they were round the corner). Nick Whale's is now a Ferrari dealer but still an authorised Lotus maintenance/repair centre.

I now use someone a mile from home who is an independent Porsche specialist.

I have had work done by Gerald at GST in Newmarket. Recommended to me by several Esprit owners and I found him to be first class and well worth the trip(s).

He runs a V8 Esprit himself.

Gerald's Esprit is an S4S by the way, but a very quick one at that.

Hi,

I'm in bedfordshire not far from Milton Keynes. The nearest dealer who will work on a V8 is Allon White Sports Cars in Cranfield. I have only had my V8 MOTed there but on a visit they did have another V8 there for mechanical work. I was going to get belts & a service there but the cost at the factory is competitive that its worth the trip to norfolk & you can be certain they know the cars!
