Just purchased a 1987 Turbo Esprit. Lord knows what I was thinking but happy non the less. Previously owned a 1968 Elan so am quite familiar with the Lotus way of building cars. I have a nice collection of Alfa's that are really my passion but perhaps this Esprit will find it's rightful place.

Overall the car is in pretty darn good shape. Trying to go through previous owners paperwork to see what's been done. Pretty sure a timing belt, etc. is first on my list and also look into the injection which needs some tuning.

I tend to ask a lot of questions and will try and answer any y'all have when I have something intelligent to say.

Don't live in what would be considered a "hot bed" of Lotus owners but am friends with the folks at the Barber Museum.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Tad,

Welcome to TLF and Esprit ownership!

Great looking '87 you have there. Congratulations.

The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is amazing, and I'm not even 'in to' motorcycles.

Though they do have a decent number of cars, and a nice display of Lotus F1 and early road cars.

I would definitely go again if I had the opportunity!

Again, welcome!

Derik
