Where to get insurance

Recommended Posts

Hi people..I've had a 2007 Elise for a year, and it's time to renew insurance - my current one is really expensive and I'm wondering if you'd have any suggestions for specialist brokers for Lotus insurance?

Thanks,

Welcome to TLF db10. :welcome: (though I don't think that is your real name)

As a fully paid member of TLF you can get discounts on insurance and all sorts of other stuff that TLF (Bibs) has arranged.

You should also duck over to the Introductions thread and say hi in there.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Hi and welcome to TLF.

If you join up as Ramjet suggests you'll get 10-15% off with these insurers which could save you a few bob?

  • Hagerty Insurance
  • Heritage Insurance
  • Competition Car Insurance
  • Footman James
  • Classicline
  • REIS

Thanks ramjet (from roger ramjet??) and bibs. Will look into the ones you mention - I know Footman James doesn't do modern cars any more for new customers... and will look into becoming a paid member! Ok, off to say hi in the Intros now..

Like Bibs says, the saving you will get will more than pay for the membership fee which is miniscule. You would also get discounts on oils, car equipment and lots more!

I put all my insurance through A Plan. They found a great deal for my first Esprit and I've since moved all 3 cars, my motorbike and my home/contents to them. They do the legwork and customer is great. Just renewed my Esprit. £373 fully comp including business use and unlimited miles.

In the US, I use Condon & Skelly for my '77 Rsprit with agreed replacement value if $40K and 3K me limit at a whopping (not) $135/year.

I bundle my Evora S, 330xi, and homeowners with State Farm, but have unlimited mileage on the Evora and agreed replacement value of $80K, with full liability/comprehensive at about $1,220/year. I can get you the coverage amounts if it's helpful for US/UK comparison.
