Hi folks

 

Just been talking to the Transport Museum firming things up for the Lotus day.

 

All good to go ahead on the 10th August as planned. it was a great event last years so please add your name to the list below and help put on another great display.

 

I am sure everyone who has done the passenger rides before will agree that it is great fun and the passengers are very appreciative of getting a quick spin round the track in a Lotus! so come and join in, for either the passenger runs or the static display.

 

GTM did ask if we would like to do the 17th instead because North Sound Radio are attending the museum for a visit then but I think most people have a preference for the 10th?

 

Please forward this on to anyone else who may have missed it or are part of another group / forum.

Waiting to hear back from GTM but I think track runs are from 2 pm - 4 pm

Free BBQ starts earlier along with entry to the museum for anyone who would like to take a look.

Ok folks, these are the running times for the event:

 

• Museum opens – 10.00am
• Arrival – 12.00 pm
• BBQ open - 12.30pm
• Briefing - 1.15pm
• Track open to drivers for test runs - not something we normally do but can look at maybe a half hour window from say 12.30pm - 1.00pm to allow time for BBQ/Briefing etc? (Note this is just for a test run not high speed laps.)
• Track runs start - 2pm
• Track runs end -  4pm
• Event closes 4pm
• Museum closes 5pm

Hi Gordon,

 

I think I told you myself but obviously never came in here and changed anything but my rota was changed so I am going to be stuck offshore sunny Angola on the 10th.  Sorry about that.  I wasn't following the post that closely as I knew I wasn't going.

 

I hope you have a good day and for anybody sitting on the fence wondering if you should do it, I would just say - take the plunge!  I did pax rides and the Pursuit at the Speedfest this year and had great fun. - The appreciation and enthusiasm of some pax makes it all worthwhile.  The car took about an hours punishment during pax rides non stop without any issues and tyres didn't show any abuse.  (Just don't pull away hard in 2nd gear from standstill and slip the clutch as it doesn't like it!  )
