Installed Valve Spring Height for Engines using Delco ecu

Recommended Posts

Does any one know what the installed height and seat pressure is for the valve springs in the engines running the Delco ecu. The springs were shortened and the poundage increased compared to the prior engines.

Lotus give the V8 specs in the workshop manuals but not the 4 cylinder though :(

I measured the installed spring height of two inlets and two exhausts on a stock A912E0311PK HC head (with unknown valve seat recession) and it varied between 1.425" and 1.450".

From a rough in-situ measurement of an inlet spring on a A910E2605 head (Delco ecu'd engine) car the installed spring height is similar at 1.45".

The valve spring seats (A907E0316Z) are fairly consistent at typically 0.8 mm thick.
